Streaming21's Karaoke-on-Demand Service a Smash Hit
Streaming21
announces the success of its new Karaoke-on-Demand service for Chunghwa Telecom. Due to its enhanced and intuitive user interface, new personalization features (such as My Jukebox) and abundant selection of popular karaoke songs, CHT has achieved significant growth with its new KOD service. The new service successfully reached over 300,000 hits in the first month since launch and becomes a leading pay-TV service, making considerable contributions to CHT's overall IPTV revenues.
Chunghwa Telecom is Taiwan's incumbent carrier, with 95% network coverage and 4 million broadband subscribers. The company is also one of the world's largest IPTV service operators with over 350,000 subscribers. CHT is planning to engage in an intensive marketing program to promote this exciting home KOD entertainment service. Two packages are available: pay-per-song for NT$5 or unlimited song ordering per Karaoke club per month for NT$100. (Currently, there are three Karaoke clubs with over 8,000 karaoke songs available.)
"Streaming21's unique interactive technology makes this new KOD service really intuitive to users. Users can see dramatic enhancements in the EPG and continuous innovations of personalized features on the new system, comparing to the old system deployed one year ago. We are confident that with this innovative and e ntertaining Home KOD service, CHT will achieve its milestones in subscriber and revenue growth, and attract more content providers to expand its IPTV businesses together," said Dr. Joe Lin, President and CEO of Streaming21.
The Karaoke-on-Demand platform powered by Streaming21 is able to accommodate numerous karaoke titles with carrier-class stability. Intuitive EPG (electronic program guide), personalized features (such as My Jukebox), unique interactive features, convenient on-line payment and a powerful service management system offer immediate adoption of new home entertainment services. Subscribers can easily order songs, follow moving lyrics on TV screens, and enjoy singing with family and friends in the privacy and convenience of their own homes.
Streaming21 has led many commercial KOD service deployments for tier-1 carriers and service providers across Asia Pacific. Key clients include Chunghwa Telecom, Eastern Multimedia, and LungHwa Electronics in Taiwan; Alcatel Shanghai Bell in China and M2B in Singapore.
