DAVE.TV, Beyond Media Showcase Live Premier of Euthanasia
DAVE.TV
, an IPTV pioneer and leader in digital entertainment distribution teaming up with
Beyond Media
, developer of an innovative new BeyondCast™ live streaming technology, today announced the live streaming premier of Adrian Grenier's critically acclaimed short film, "Euthanasia." The production team for the film, including Adrian Grenier from HBO's hit show "Entourage" and the Wahlbergs, a well-known Hollywood family of producers, directors, actors and writers, are among the big names headlining the introduction of the new DAVE.TV and Beyond Media IPTV service, powered by Beyond Media's BeyondCast. The cutting-edge service allows directors, actors, producers, and writers in the film industry to utilize the freedom of the internet and directly reach customers by combining streaming grid technology and end-to-end IPTV solutions to deliver high-quality picture at low bandwidth to the masses.
DAVE.TV and Beyond Media will preview the short film via the new IPTV service at the Digital Hollywood Conference on March 29, 2006 at an exclusive Red Carpet, invitation-only after-party held next door at the Le Merigot Hotel.
"Independent filmmakers now have the ability to deliver quality entertainment to the masses, cost-effectively and efficiently with the help of DAVE.TV and Beyond Media," said Adrian Grenier.
"There is finally a new option for content producers to get their content out to a large audience without having to deal with the standard distribution methods," says Jimmy Wahlberg. "Producers and directors can now bypass traditional distribution outlets and deliver their content directly to consumers."
DAVE.TV delivers the world's first Cross-Platform Digital Delivery Ecosystem delivering IPTV and Video over IP content to TVs, PCs, portable and mobile devices. DAVE.TV's platform allows consumers to get their content anytime, anyplace and on any device. Beyond Media's BeyondCast™ system delivers linear and on-demand streaming IPTV over a proprietary patent-pending distributed grid architecture which dramatically lowers bandwidth costs by up to 97%, while greatly improving content delivery performance and efficiency. The new IPTV service combines DAVE.TV's end-to-end IPTV solution platform with Beyond Media's BeyondCast grid streaming technology to create a true IPTV environment that can deliver DVD-quality streams at an unheard of bandwidth of under 1MBps, unlike most solutions requiring 4MBps or more. Furthermore, the combined solution can deliver HDTV-quality streams in under 4MBps, versus the typical 12MBps. The technologies will be on display at Loews Santa Monica (Booth #5) at the Digital Hollywood Conference on March 28 - 30, 2006.
"The combined DAVE.TV/Beyond Media content delivery system will now bring IPTV to the masses as it runs on existing broadband infrastructure and bandwidth," says Rex Wong, CEO of DAVE.TV. "At only 1MBps bandwidth requirement, we can deliver IPTV to over 80% of all current U.S. broadband customers without the need to install expensive fiber or other next generation wiring."
"Beyond Media with BeyondCast™ is allowing us to intelligently harness the power of the internet by changing the landscape of how TV is delivered over IP and the Internet," says Tim Hogan, President and founder of Beyond Media. "Together with DAVE.TV, the combined IPTV platform will greatly shorten the market time window for IPTV deployments worldwide. The freedom of the internet will create new outlets for digital content creators and endless possibilities to stream live content."
The IPTV service will be available for PCs on the free downloadable DAVE.TV Media Center (DMC) software, available on www.dave.tv. The service will also soon be available on DAVE.TV XPORT set-top boxes, sold from various service provider partners. The BeyondCast™-powered DAVE.TV service will feature the first cross-platform P2P grid architecture that resides on a set-top box as well as a PC client utilizing the power of an array of always-on DAVE.TV XPORT set-top boxes to create a virtual content delivery network.
The new IPTV Service will be available late April.
