Netopia's MiAVo Delivers Triple Play Services on Fiber, VDSL2, and Bonded ADSL2+
Netopia
, Inc., a market leader in broadband equipment and service delivery software, announced the Netopia MiAVo product line of high-performance gateways, designed for cost effective delivery of triple play services such as IPTV and voice-over-IP (VoIP) across fiber, VDSL2, and bonded ADSL2+ networks. Netopia's new family of MiAVo triple play customer premise equipment will deliver more bandwidth to the home or office, while providing the same TR-069 remote management functionality, VGx quality of service, security, and 3-D Reach® Wi-Fi coverage as Netopia's award-winning products do today.
Carriers and Internet service providers worldwide are investing in and upgrading their broadband networks to deliver bandwidth-intensive, QoS-reliant services such as IPTV, video, and VoIP. Most customer premise equipment today is optimized only for lower-bandwidth 8 Mbps networks. As a result, these lower-capacity devices act as a bottleneck at the edge of these new high-bandwidth networks and vastly underutilize the networks' capabilities. Netopia's MiAVo portfolio of high performance gateways includes new and innovative networking technologies that will allow its carrier partners to take advantage of their investment in these new networks designed for the delivery of triple play services.
New High-Performance Netopia MiAVo Gateways
Netopia is leveraging its close working relationships with its carrier partners as well as leading central office equipment and silicon manufacturers to deliver high-performance customer premise equipment that takes advantage of fiber, VDSL2, and bonded ADSL2+ networks, while offering the price/performance ratios required for mass deployment of triple play services across residential and business-class markets.
Netopia's portfolio of MiAVo products includes a complete line of high-performance Ethernet gateways optimized for fiber networks, new VDSL2 IP and ATM smart modems and gateways, and a new line of bonded ADSL2+ gateways for carriers upgrading their existing ADSL infrastructure.
MiAVo Video and Voice Distribution Technology
Bringing more bandwidth to the subscriber demands new video, voice and data distribution technology within the residence or business location to ensure quality of service. Netopia's MiAVo gateways incorporate innovative high-speed LAN distribution technologies that deliver increased bandwidth to networked devices such as IP set top boxes, digital video recorders, Webcams, VoIP phones, and more, with minimal expense or physical disruption to the subscriber. By leveraging existing wiring infrastructure and innovative new cable and Wi-Fi technologies, Netopia's MiAVo gateways can deliver IPTV, video, voice and data over existing coaxial cable, in-home electrical wiring, plastic optical fiber (POF), or 3-D Reach 802.11b/g/MIMO Wi-Fi. The result is a complete portfolio of triple play gateways that not only deliver more bandwidth, but also route and distribute broadband services to the appropriate devices on the LAN with the highest quality of service and the lowest cost of deployment.
"Carriers are looking for technology that can deliver IPTV, video and VoIP across their new broadband networks today," said Jeff Porter, vice president of product marketing for Netopia. "MiAVo stands for 'Media in, Audio and Video out'. Our new MiAVo series of high-performance gateways will enable our carrier customers to take advantage of these new network technologies with the right LAN distribution capabilities to cost-effectively deliver triple play services."
Carriers, service providers and central office equipment developers interested in learning more about Netopia's new product portfolio and obtaining samples for laboratory and interoperability testing can contact Netopia directly at (800) 463-2003 or (510) 597-5470 and through email at:
