RADCOM’s Omni-Q for IPTV Sets a New Standard in Performance Monitoring
RADCOM, Ltd.
, a leading network test and service monitoring solutions provider, today announced it will unveil Omni-Q’s uniquely powerful IPTV monitoring and troubleshooting capabilities at Fall 2006 VON in Boston, Massachusetts on September 12, 2006. Omni-Q for IPTV monitors an entire IPTV network, end to end. This exclusive capability is made possible by the company’s award-winning R70 pure hardware probe which can deliver upper layer application analysis in real time. Implementing the power of the R70 for IPTV analysis enables operators to easily scale up to hundreds of GbE links. The system solution gives IPTV service providers a comprehensive, correlated view of IPTV service delivery, complete with service quality metrics, over a large IPTV network.
Omni-Q for IPTV helps service providers solve service issues by measuring the performance and interaction of every component in the service delivery chain. It extracts and calculates critical performance metrics from communication lines. It monitors the quality of thousands of video streams simultaneously, providing a MOS score for each. It provides a full range of MPEG-Transport Stream analysis with MPEG-2, MPEG-4, and H.263 support. Easily scalable to cover a complete IPTV network, the Omni-Q solution enables IPTV service providers to drill-down and troubleshoot problematic IPTV service requests and pinpoint the exact cause and location of any failure.
Omni-Q for IPTV gives operators full visibility into subscriber service requests and their propagation into IPTV network elements such as middleware. It allows them to examine the performance of Video On Demand (VOD) and other application servers. The system solution monitors network and media KPIs (key performance indicators) regarding application performance, DVB Transport stream, network transmission (jitter, delay and packet loss), service usage and availability as well as specific subscriber transactions.
“Omni-Q for IPTV allows service providers to easily filter on a specific subscriber’s activity and monitor all his/her service request in their entirety, in real time, over the entire network,” said Ofir Michael, RADCOM’s Director of Product Management for VoIP and IPTV solutions. “This ability is invaluable to operators when a subscriber calls with a service complaint. Using it, the operator is able to simply filter down to that subscriber’s service details, trace previous activity or look ahead at new control messages. RADCOM’s solution is the only one in the market capable of scaling up to a full IPTV network. It is a must have for service providers who wish to ensure IPTV service availability, delivery and integrity.”
For more information, visit RADCOM at VON Booth #364. To schedule a private briefing with an IP service quality specialist, contact Jacqui McDonald, Director of Marketing, JacquiM@RADCOMUSA.com. While at VON, be sure to catch Ofir Michael on the IPTV Track in the session entitled, “New Frontiers for High Definition” on September 13, 2006.
