Broadband Services Forum to Explore IPTV at TelecomNEXT
Today, TelecomNEXT announced, as a complement to the cutting-edge technology and entertainment products and services on display on the TelecomNEXT exhibit floor, that the Broadband Services Forum, an international industry coalition of content providers, service providers and technology companies, will host a Supersession at TelecomNEXT. This session will look at how entertainment and technology companies can work together on new opportunities for Internet television (IPTV) in today's rapidly evolving communications marketplace.
TelecomNEXT, the only place where the business and technology of communications and entertainment meet, replaces SUPERCOMM as USTelecom's annual venue and will be held March 19-23, 2006, in Las Vegas. The Broadband Services Forum session will be held on Monday, March 20.
"With IPTV dramatically changing the entertainment market and helping to spur demand for broadband, IPTV products will be one of the hottest items on the TelecomNEXT exhibit floor. The Broadband Services Forum is a terrific group to give TelecomNEXT attendees the critical information that will help network service providers with their network purchasing decisions," said John Abel, USTelecom Senior Vice President for Membership, Marketing & Business Development.
The Broadband Services Forum provides an opportunity for dialogue and development, along with the tools and information to address the fundamental business and technology issues vital to the growth and health of the broadband industry. The Forum fosters collaboration across the broadband value chain including content, service and technology providers.
The TelecomNEXT exhibit floor will feature hundreds of leading technology companies offering the latest products and services. To complement the cutting-edge exhibits, the Broadband Services Forum's panel of industry experts will present a frank and interactive discussion on where IPTV is today and where it is headed in the future. The session will give attendees new insight as they develop plans to build next-generation networks to deploy IP video services.
"TelecomNEXT is a great place to learn more about how IPTV will forever change the video market and this session is a tremendous opportunity to take the discussion to the next level and determine how IPTV fits into company business plans," said Matthew Marnik, Vice President of Marketing, and member of the Board of Directors for the Broadband Services Forum.
TelecomNEXT brings together the dynamic, talented and innovative players of the digital age. In addition to cutting-edge exhibits and conference programming, TelecomNEXT keynote speakers include: Duane Ackerman, Chairman & CEO, BellSouth; Robbie Bach, President - Entertainment and Devices Division, Microsoft; Glenn Britt, Chairman & CEO, Time Warner Cable; John Chambers, President & CEO, Cisco; Scott Ford, President & CEO, Alltel; Jonathan Glickman, President, Spyglass Entertainment Group; Dan Hesse, CEO, Sprint Nextel, Local Telecommunications Division; Robert Iger, President & CEO, The Walt Disney Company; Scott Kriens, President & CEO, Juniper Networks; FCC Chairman Kevin Martin; Mike Quigley, President & COO, Alcatel; Michael Sabia, President & CEO, Bell Canada; Ivan Seidenberg, Chairman & CEO, Verizon; Stan Sigman, President & CEO, Cingular; Norio Wada, President & CEO, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone; and Ed Whitacre, Chairman & CEO, AT&T.
