iQ Digital, a full-service, rich- media solutions company specializing in Internet television, video streaming, iPod media solutions and video production, announced the inception of the Learning Now Network (LNN): an Internet television network for K-12 schools. The rollout, completed in November 2005, is the largest in the nation and includes more than 50 schools in five states with more than 12,000 daily "impressions."

LNN operates just like television, with scheduled programming including news, educational magazine shows and public service programming -- all delivered on 30" and 40" plasma TVs in the schools and accessible via the Internet. Unlike regular TV, though, LNN content is fully searchable and available "on demand" from any PC with an Internet connection.

Each participating school also receives a "producer kit" that enables teachers and students to create, write, record and produce their own news stories to be seen on LNN.

iQ General Manager Marcus May calls LNN, "an innovation in distance learning. LNN allows schools to share news, events and best practices, but it also is a platform for other learning content, including teacher professional development."

LNN is one of several large scale Internet TV implementations completed by iQ Digital. "It's a great example of our 'Dot TV' TV-on-the-web solution," May said.
