2nd Annual Asia Pacific Entertainment & Media (APEM) Summit 2007
Entertainment Asia Network (EAN), an Asia entertainment industry news and research source, has announced an impressive line-up of top level entertainment executives from Asia and the US who will speak at this year’s 2nd annual Asia Pacific Entertainment & Media (APEM) Summit 2007 in Los Angeles. These industry veterans will discuss and analyze key topics relevant to local and global entertainment companies looking to do business in the film, TV, video game, mobile and Internet content industries in Asia, including regions such as China, Japan, South Korea, India, and Hong Kong, as well as the US.
Taking place at the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles on October 17 – 18, 2007, APEM Summit 2007 was organized to bring together some of the most recognized, high-profile Asian and US film/TV production and distribution houses, video game companies, mobile service providers, legislative leaders and more to discuss business strategies, network, and gain vital up-to-date market information. To register and see the current line-up of panel speakers and presenters, please visit http://www.apemsummit.com.
The opening day keynote address will be presented by Laureen Ong, Chief Operating Officer of STAR Group Limited, who will discuss "Asia as the leading entertainment market for the future." STAR, a wholly-owned subsidiary of News Corporation, broadcasts over 60 services in nine languages and has more than 300 million viewers in 53 countries across Asia.
Among the exciting list of confirmed speakers so far include top-level executives from Paramount Pictures, Marvel Studios, Nexon, NBC Universal Global Networks, Qualcomm MediaFLO, 60Frames Entertainment, Altos Ventures, WildTangent, Rocket Fish Studios, Golden Ocean Entertainment, Bigfoot Entertainment, MTV Networks, Eastar (Xing Xing) Digital, Circle of Confusion, Ironpond, Manifest Films, The Shindler Perspective, Tokyopop and JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization).
"By bringing together such a distinguished group of both Asian and Western experts who will speak at this year’s APEM Summit, we are committed to making this the most important Asia-focused entertainment industry event held in the US for high-level decision makers," said Alex Shin, Chief Executive Officer of EAN. "With the explosive growth of Asia’s economy, consumer spending on entertainment has risen to unprecedented heights. Westerners must now take a more proactive approach to reaching consumers in Asia, the fastest growing entertainment market in the world."
