SeaChange International announces customer availability of its Intelligent Video Platform 2.0, which now includes support for Adobe’s new Flash Player 10.1 software and Flash Access 2.0 content protection, integrates Envivio’s 4Caster C42 encoders and enables HTTP live and on-demand streaming to the Apple iPad. Demonstrations at The Cable Show in Los Angeles will show the Intelligent Video Platform’s flexibility with on-demand content streaming to extend the business of on-demand television to set-tops, PCs, mobile phones and enable over-the-top video.

The open Intelligent Video Platform combines SeaChange’s market-leading standards-based Axiom® On Demand content delivery system with its Axiom Adrenalin mobile video system to form a modular solution to deliver video-on-demand and advanced advertising to any screen, anywhere, using a single, integrated platform. Several SeaChange Axiom On Demand cable television customers in the Americas, Europe and Asia are preparing to deploy the Intelligent Video Platform in support of multi-screen video initiatives. SeaChange anticipates announcing these deployments later this year.

With the goal of providing a complete solution for over-the-top delivery, SeaChange selected Envivio, a leading technology provider of IP video convergence encoding solutions for television operators. Integrated Envivio 4Caster C42 encoders deliver industry leading AVC (H.264), AVS, and Windows Media Video (VC 1) high-quality compressed video at the lowest bit rate for mobile TV, Internet TV, IPTV, and broadcast applications.

Also introduced in the Intelligent Video Platform 2.0, Adobe’s Flash Player 10.1 software for smartphones, smartbooks, netbooks, PCs and other Internet-connected devices, which provides an open rich video streaming platform. Adobe’s Access 2.0 provides robust protection of audiovisual content and flexible usage rules to support a wide range of business models, including electronic sell-through, rental and video-on-demand, for streaming or download.
