I would like to know more about this service, and what is available, and what it costs.

I'm a college student taking a business course on advanced media technology. I'm a little confused on how this all works, I can't seems to get a grasp on all the different facets and they work together (content?, middle ware?, aggregation?, proprietor?, head- end? system providers? etc) The way my Professor explained it was so vague and hard to grasp! Is there a way you can explain it to me in a way I'd actually understand? I am especially confused in how Hotels provide it.
Thank You so much!
