Streaming21 Launches New IPTV Services
Streaming21
announces its award-winning media-on-demand solution, Media Server 6.0, which provides a full suite of functionality for delivering carrier-class streaming services over IP networks. The new platform adds many industry-leading features that support H.264 and IPv6 video streaming with highly scaleable video delivery.
Streaming21's new revolutionary H.264 feature enables perfect delivery of MPEG-4 compressed video at much lower bit rates than standard MPEG-2. The groundbreaking technology cuts in half the bandwidth required to deliver broadcast-quality video streams for VOD and HDTV. It also delivers significant advancements in video compression and coding efficiency, making it much more efficient and cost effective to deliver optimal video quality over IP networks. The new enhancements support both SD and HD.
A growing number of telcos are now adopting IPv6 standard to resolve challenges of networking QoS and shortage of IP addresses. Streaming21's breakthrough solution enables multiple video applications over IPv4/IPv6 dual stack network and gives users convenient access to various video services anytime, anywhere. Thus, it opens a whole new realm of opportunities for telcos to create new revenue streams by expanding service offerings.
Streaming21's Media Server 6.0 is a fully open platform which can be easily deployed, integrated and customized. Its patented and award-winning streaming engine offers the industry's highest streaming performance. The solution is built on a reliable large-scale streaming architecture from single server to geographically distributed clusters. The platform is highly scalable to deliver hundreds of thousands of simultaneous streams to millions of households.
Key new enhancements include:
High definition: Support MPEG-2, MPEG-4 and H.264 video formats for HDTV
Advanced networking: Support IPv4/IPv6 dual stack network to enable IPTV anytime, anywhere and penetrates firewall to deliver real-time video streams to televisions through open networks.
Broadcast Integration: Innovative "live archive" and "live rebroadcast" functions are able to catch live channel video streams and record it for rebroadcast. Applications include network PVR or Time Shift TV, etc.
Greater STB choices: Including HD and H.264
Enhanced security: Secured client access through URL with ticket authentication
