MetaSolv Helps Service Providers Deliver IPTV
MetaSolv Software
, Inc., a global leader in comprehensive service fulfillment solutions for next-generation communications service providers, announced that its Activation Solution for IPTV services has been selected and is being implemented by major global service providers including a large, North American-based ILEC and a major European cable operator.
"IPTV completes the triple play for incumbent carriers that want to provide a one-stop shop to consumers for their entertainment and communication services," says Patrick Kelly, Partner, OSS Observer. "MetaSolv, a leading supplier in the activation market, provides fixed line carriers offering IPTV a multi-service activation solution enabling efficient IPTV service delivery."
Service providers are expected to deploy IPTV, not in isolation, but as a complement to existing voice, VoIP and broadband data services as they launch convergent services bundles, leveraging a unified IP-based core packet network. MetaSolv has proven credibility in delivering such high-volume services and bundles and is collaborating with customers and IPTV software vendors to deliver effective solutions.
Next generation IPTV services will create activation challenges for silo- based activation platforms as converged services require a cross-domain activation platform. A single service order must be capable of triggering activation and configuration requirements in multiple domains, including POTS, VoIP, IPTV, DSL-Broadband and the core network. Another key element in automating IPTV and triple-play service delivery is the ability to integrate with existing upstream order entry and workflow systems, enabling re-use of existing business processes and ordering capabilities. MetaSolv recently launched Activation 5 to address these unique requirements for delivery of IPTV services -- from a single, multi-service activation platform.
As part of MetaSolv's IPTV activation solution being delivered to customers, MetaSolv has provided productized support for NagraVision's Conditional Access Server (Digital TV) and Microsoft's IPTV Server (Subscriber Management System). MetaSolv currently has over 110 contemporary, multi- vendor productized network element cartridges available to facilitate reduced deployment time, faster time to market, and lower cost of ownership.
"As the recognized market leader in providing multi-service activation solutions, MetaSolv continues to provide clear vision and a migration path as operators launch new services and converge their OSS systems," said David Sharpley, senior vice-president of marketing and product management, MetaSolv. "MetaSolv's activation solutions for IPTV further highlight our unique value proposition and capabilities to enable next-generation IP services revenues for operators worldwide."
MetaSolv's multi-vendor, multi-service activation capabilities have been deployed by more than 75 operators in over 26 countries for an array of services including VoIP, IP VPN, Mobile, IPTV, Broadband, Voice and Data. MetaSolv's solutions are market-proven and deployed for high volume performance and scalability. MetaSolv currently provisions numerous services over multiple network technologies for approximately 200 million subscribers globally. MetaSolv ranked number 1 in Service Activation in Heavy Reading's 2005 OSS Market Perception Study.
