Espial, Latens, mPhase Technologies, Ranch Networks and SkyStream Collaborate in "One Room Schoolhouse" Learning Experience

It's back to school time at the Broadband World Forum 2005, where the IEC is sponsoring an IPTV Pavilion in the form of a one room schoolhouse Oct. 3-6, 2005. This pavilion provides attendees with learning experiences ranging from hands-on deployment tutorials for advanced IPTV broadband Internet offerings and interactive services, to advanced techniques for maximum service assurance, revenue protection and expansion.

The IPTV Pavilion was organized by mPhase Technologies, a pioneer in the delivery of television using the broadband infrastructure of traditional telephone companies, and includes participation by key industry players like Espial, Latens, Ranch Networks and SkyStream -- companies committed to a carrier-class open architecture engineered to reliably deliver revenue-generating interactive video services over broadband networks.

Coordinated under the theme, "IP Means Income Potential," the IPTV Pavilion is on the ground floor at the Palacio Municipal de Congresos. The Pavilion features hands-on demonstrations and technical sessions designed to educate operator decision makers about the imperative for an open IPTV system architecture, and its advantages. Sessions include:

-- Getting Started Primer - basic help for beginners in designing and deploying IPTV networks

-- Service Creation Workshop

-- instruction on modifying the user interface to create new services using Espial's client middleware and Beyond Brandable(TM) end-user interface technology

-- a hands-on learning experience for creating service bundles and real-time promotions

-- IPTV Live - a demonstration of locally-generated content with a live on-site IPTV network and real-time MPEG-2 digital encoding from SkyStream

-- Masters Methodology - lectures on video network design and service support options for creating networks able to deploy multiple video, gaming and service offerings. This is geared to service providers interested in quick, new, high-margin service creation
