Entriq Announces New IPTV Solution
Entriq
, Inc., a company that provides pay media solutions to manage, protect, and monetize multimedia content worldwide, announced the availability of its new IPTV service. The company has also announced that the new solution has been selected by SevenSenses, ProSiebenSat.1-Group's Digital TV Company and its strategic partner 1&1 Internet, to enable their recently in Germany launched Video on Demand service maxdome.
Having already provided 1&1 Internet and ProSiebenSat.1 Group with services enabling customers to securely access maxdome via PC, Entriq is now providing an application that allows maxdome IPTV users to access the same digital content via a set-top box made by Thomson Consumer Electronics and offered by 1&1 Internet to all maxdome customers. This is made possible due to Entriq's content management system, which synchronises content between the existing online store and the new set-top box version.
"The Entriq service has allowed us to migrate the maxdome service to the television without having to replicate content or build new content management platforms which in the end has saved us time to market and significant expense. Entriq is proving to be a valuable partner in helping us move to these exciting new media platforms," said Dr. Dirk Kleine, Managing Director SevenSenses.
The set-top box solution is easy to use, and complements the plug-and-play nature of the maxdome service. Entriq's service is being used to publish, manage, and secure content and will enable virtually all business models including subscription based and pay-per-view, the options available from maxdome. The service leverages the real-world complexity of today's media distribution deals and gives content owners the ability to test multiple business models to determine the best possible recipe for monetizing their high-value content across multiple platform distribution channels.
With Entriq's IPTV solution, content aggregators can now deliver content securely to broadband connected television sets. Entriq's IPTV solution includes a programmable electronic program guide, a robust security system, business rules applications, policy management, user management and DRM. The Entriq IPTV solution makes it easy to ingest content and distribute it to a multitude of broadband connected television devices such as IPTV Set Top Boxes, Hybrid (broadcast and broadband) Set Top Boxes and platforms such as Windows Media Center and MSN TV.
Jan Steenkamp, CEO of Entriq said "As IPTV take-up increases we would expect this type of set-top box service to grow in popularity, and we are delighted to have signed SevenSenses and 1&1 as the first customer for this new solution. This is the next step in an already successful partnership for us, and we are looking forward to working with them to ensure that the maxdome portal continues to deliver and exceed customer expectations."
Andreas Gauger, CEO of 1&1 Internet AG said "With technology provided by Entriq we can provide the customers of maxdome now with a complete state-of-the-art IPTV solution to watch the latest TV series and exciting blockbusters on their home TV set whenever they want."
Entriq will be demonstrating how content aggregators and providers can publish their content to IPTV, mobile and broadband devices at this year's IBC Exhibition (booth number 7.942).
