Scopus Launches IP-based Video Networking Management Platform at IBC 2006
Scopus Video Networks
, a provider of digital video networking products, announced the launch of two new platforms for emerging digital video networks: the NMS-7000 Video Networking Management System and the IRD-2900 MPEG-4 H.264 SD decoder. Scopus will show these, as well as comprehensive IP video networking solutions for satellite, cable, telco and terrestrial networks at IBC, stand 1.339 in Amsterdam, September 8-12, 2006.
Scopus' new NMS-7000 video networking management system provides complete and total service-level management of video services across networks and headends. The flexible NMS-7000 allows customers to enter the required service functions while the unit continuously operates and manages the end-to-end content delivery system. The IP-based NMS-7000 incorporates operators' extensive feedback and features a carrier-class modular architecture. The NMS-7000 can control large distributed networks as well as smaller headends.
Scopus' new multi-format decoding platform decodes either MPEG-4 or MPEG-2 SD content and is based on the successful IRD-2900 series. It features rich reception front-ends such as: DVB-S2, single or dual L-Band inputs, DSNG, dual MPEG-over-IP input, G.703, and DS3. It also integrates cutting-edge IP technologies, decryption, IP data output (MPE decapsulation), SNMP and web-based management. The combination of MPEG-4 SD decoding and DVB-S2 de-modulation, improves bandwidth utilization by over three times enhancing content distribution services for television operators.
According to Scopus CEO David Mahlab, "Scopus is providing professional broadcasters and operators with comprehensive and advanced video networking solutions designed to meet today and tomorrow's requirements. At IBC 2006, we are emphasizing our role in the growing marketplace as a key provider of content delivery and processing solutions."
Also at IBC 2006, Scopus will display:
Comprehensive IP video networking solutions targeting broadcasters, satellite, cable and telco/IPTV operators. Scopus' headend solutions feature aggregation, encoding, processing, management and distribution capabilities.
End-to-end MPEG-2 / MPEG-4 SD encoding / decoding as well as DVB S2 modulation / demodulation for video distribution and satellite news. These solutions together enable a smooth transition to advanced codecs while maximizing channel bandwidth utilization.
Also making its European debut is the IVG-7500 Intelligent Video Splicer addressing cable and IPTV digital ad-insertion markets. The unit provides ad insertion, rate shaping, and grooming capabilities for digital simulcast network architectures. The IVG-7500 features superior-quality, seamless SD and HD splicing and standards-based DPI implementation (SCTE 30 and SCTE 35) for compatibility with major ad servers' vendors.
MPEG-4 AVC HD technology demonstration based on Scopus' Universal Encoder UE-9000 platform.
