BuLogics has released its new streaming IPTV interface for wireless home control. BuLogics will unveil this latest release of its BaseCamp home automation system with wireless partner Zensys at TelcoTV. This new interface delivers a next-generation wireless home control solution designed for service providers seeking to offer a truly converged IPTV network that bundles entertainment, multimedia, home automation and communications into one streamlined experience for the consumer.

The latest interface, BaseCamp CS, delivers home control capabilities using MPEG-4 Part 10 AVC. BaseCamp CS's multicast H.264 stream for IPTV uses minimum bandwidth and can be transmitted reliably from anywhere in the house via Ethernet or existing cable and phone wiring using HPNA 1.0 and HPNA 2.0. Additionally, unlike many other control systems, BaseCamp CS allows the user to easily navigate the streaming video interface from any television in the house using a remote control, while also giving the option of off-site home control via the Internet. BaseCamp CS is currently the first home automation system on the market that utilizes the AVC codec standard.



Earlier this year, BuLogics launched the BaseCamp home automation system to deliver innovative home control that average consumers can easily install and configure themselves. BaseCamp utilizes Zensys' Z-Wave wireless standard, a wireless radio frequency (RF) based communications technology created for residential control. This standard ensures seamless interoperability across Z-wave enabled technologies, ultimately delivering a central hub for the connected home. The Z-Wave Alliance has 125+ members, including world-class brands like Cooper Wiring, Danfoss, Leviton, Monster Cable, Panasonic, Universal Electronics and Wayne Dalton.

Worldwide revenue from IPTV services is expected to grow to more than $44 billion in 2009, according to a November 2005 news release from analyst firm Infonetics Research. As IPTV continues to drive converging technology, industry players looking to capitalize on this growth potential must decide how to best position their strategic and technical capabilities as the market consolidates. Service providers must also select the right complementary solutions that can be seamlessly integrated into current offerings in order to make their IPTV bundle more attractive to subscribers.
