Get your Broadband PC on TV with PCzapper
PCzapper.TV BV the launch of PCzapper
TM
, a smart solution to connect the broadband PC in an easy and comfortable way to the TV.
PCzapper
TM
gets the most out of the broadband connection and turns any regular television into a multimedia TV. All digital media from the computer (DVDs, music, pictures and movies) and internet (streaming audio and video) can be enjoyed directly on TV, even if the PC is in another room.
Using the PCzapper
TM
remote control, the user activates a menu on TV. Now it is easy to choose photos, films and music from the computer to watch and listen to on the television set.
PCzapper.TV offers a broadband TV portal which provides access to tens of thousands of hours of free video, radio and TV. This way one can view online TV series, listen to radio and TV that’s available by internet, and order movies on demand.
PCzapper
TM
turns a broadband multimedia PC into a remote set-top box, which can be connected in a number of different, simple ways to the television set. PCzapper
TM
makes it as easy to navigate through multimedia files stored locally on the computers’ hard drive, as it provides access to online streaming audio and video content.
Initially, PCzapper
TM
will be available in two different versions:
PCzapper Basic allows one to connect one television set to a broadband multi computer by using a special thin multi cable. With the included remote control the user controls the PC remotely through the TV screen. The PC connects via SCART to the TV, which guarantees a fine image quality.
PCzapper Multi is capable to connect all television sets in the home to a broadband multimedia pc by plugging the computer into any existing R/TV connection on the wall or in the meter cupboard. A special link box is used to facilitate this connection. The link box modulates an extra signal from the PC on the coaxial wires. This signal can be picked up by all television sets. PCzapper comes with a RF remote control that can be used simultaneously for all television screens.
Vincent Everts, CEO of PCzapper.TV BV 'we are the first to make video signals from internet available for simple and easy viewing on any regular TV set, without having to invest in expensive set top boxes. We believe our product comes a the right moment with the convergence of the TV and PC now really taking off.'
Lars Jensen, CTO, 'our technology is unique in the sense that it seamlessly integrates local content on the users' hard drive and internet based streaming content in one 10 ft TV user interface'.
Jan Prins, COO, 'our product makes it really easy to bring video on demand and interactive television via the internet on TV. For this to work, the user needs a fast enough internet connection - at least 500 kbps and 1mbps or more for better quality - and of course a broadband multimedia pc. Our commercial strategy therefore is to co-operate with internet access providers and content owners. We provide their users a reason to upgrade to higher bandwidth subscriptions and enjoy value added content services'.
Both products - PCzapper Basic and PCzapper Multi - are based on the Palmbutler technology, which was developed in Danmark over the past years. Early this year the assets of this company where bought by PCzapper.TV BV, a Dutch company owned by the management.
As of may 1st PCzapper Basic will be available in the Netherlands and Belgium for a retail price of just €79,-. PCzapper Multi' advised retail price is €249,-. Later this year the products will be made available in Germany, Danmark and other countries.
