Cdigix, the leading digital media service provider to exclusively serve the college marketplace, announced that three of Missouri's most prominent state universities - Southwest Missouri State University, the University of Missouri-Columbia and the University of Missouri-Rolla - have all committed to deploying Cdigix's services on their campuses. Beginning this fall, students at the three universities will have access to Cdigix's legal digital music, film and television programming and social networking services.

The commitment by the universities to introduce Cdigix to their students is yet another show of support of the entertainment industry's fight against piracy. As a result of these three new partnerships, Cdigix's services will be available to 45,000 additional students.

"The initiative to bring Cdigix to campus was originally put in motion by our student body representatives, who stressed to us the importance of giving students easy access to high-quality, broad-based digital media services," said Don A. Aripoli, Vice President for Student Affairs at Southwest Missouri State University.

"Cdigix was chosen because of its depth and breadth of services, its affordable prices as well as the company's exclusive focus on the college marketplace," said Beth Chancellor, Director of Telecommunications for IAT Services at the University of Missouri-Columbia.

And Randy Tucker, Chief Information Officer at the University of Missouri-Rolla added: "We look forward to implementing Cdigix's digital media services on our campus as a way to further enrich our students' experience."

The following Cdigix services will be introduced to the three universities:

-- Ctrax, offering one of the largest digital music libraries of any service, featuring 1.7 million legally downloadable songs. Students with a monthly subscription to Ctrax can easily download and play the music files as often as they want via a 'tethered download.' Students can also permanently download individual tracks or whole albums;

-- Cflix, for broadcast quality video on-demand programming from premier media companies including Walt Disney Pictures, ESPN, NASCAR.COM and Cartoon Network;

-- Cvillage, the company's outlet for campus media distribution and social interaction.

The Cdigix content is distributed over a local area network (LAN), yielding a fast and secure way for students to access legal, downloadable content that doesn't slow the down the university's Internet connection.

Today's news is the latest in a series of recent announcements about Cdigix's growing list of partnered schools. Other new partnerships recently unveiled include Henderson State University in Arkansas, Lyon College in Arkansas and Thomas College in Maine. It has also signed an agreement with California's two largest university systems - the University of California system and the California State University system - to offer its services to up to 33 campuses throughout the state on a school by school basis.
