Brightbox Picks VWB's MediaREADY for Internet TV Sales Concept
Video Without Boundaries
, Inc. announced that its MediaREADY 5000 Advanced Digital Media Center has been chosen by Brightbox, Inc., a new company, as the basis of Brightbox's innovative Internet TV content delivery concept. Brightbox, which plans to private-label the MediaREADY 5000 under the Brightbox brand, will sell the unit through a network marketing program focused on delivering a wide range of programming including entertainment, learning, shopping and more to the general public. The initial contract is in excess of $500,000 with options for significant incremental shipments which will be announced separately based on successful product sell through.
Video Without Boundaries (VWB) introduced the MediaREADY 5000 earlier this year. The revolutionary TV set-top device combines a suite of popular TV-centric applications including PVR/DVD/MPEG-1, 2, and 4/CD/MP3 recording and/or playback with an Electronic Program Guide, Internet browsing, email, streaming video/audio, karaoke, media jukebox and more, all in one compact unit roughly the size of a DVD player.
Brightbox intends to use the MediaREADY 5000 as the sole content delivery device for its unique product and service offerings. The firm, a spin-off of Mastery Media, Inc., a diversified motivational and educational media company, is based in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, California. Brightbox helps consumers take part in the worldwide shift to Internet TV and connected home entertainment by packaging and delivering a wide range of useful multimedia content, combined with the broad range of capabilities enabled by the MediaREADY 5000.
Brightbox's product/service lineup will be marketed primarily through home parties sponsored by independent Brightbox representatives, many of whom are already affiliated with other Mastery Media companies. Brightbox's initial content is provided by The Learning Network, a grouping of online educational alternatives including Wealth YOUniversity

"The integrated, next-generation media technologies of VWB's MediaREADY 5000 device are truly groundbreaking. This mix, combined with the MediaREADY 5000's affordability and value, made it ideal for the Brightbox concept," said Tom Wood, President of Brightbox, Inc.
"It is our plan to use the MediaREADY 5000 to drive demand for our offerings, as well as to secure additional content, services, and applications that add value for Brightbox customers."
"Advertising studies show that 80% of entertainment, education and consumer electronics sales are influenced by word-of-mouth marketing," Wood said. "Our distribution strategy makes the best sense for our unique content and the MediaREADY platform."
In addition to furnishing its MediaREADY 5000 to Brightbox, VWB has agreed to work jointly with Brightbox in securing additional content for Brightbox customers. In the past, VWB has had a variety of distribution agreements with various content providers from the music, lifestyle, and children's entertainment fields.
Brightbox plans to launch its sales efforts online on September 15, with a major promotional event scheduled for November. For more information visit:
