Christians to Beta-Test New IPTV Solution
Verismo Networks
and
Good News Holdings
have joined forces on THE CLOUD, an internet protocol television platform. THE CLOUD will reach subscribers having access to broadband connections anywhere in the world with a robust selection of online programming.
Over 100 major Christian communities will be involved in the national beta-test this fall. The communities include: Promise Keepers with 5.5 million families: MOPS (Mothers Of Pre-schoolers) with 3 million families; Extraordinary Women with a reach of several million; House-to-House, nation's largest home church community; the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) and Tyndale House Publishers.
Good News Co-Founder, Rich Christopher, says, "The thirst for distance learning and quality programming inside the Christian community is enormous. THE CLOUD has generated great excitement for anyone who has created solid, faith-based media. This provides a pipeline for that content into the average home."
According to Verismo Chairman and Silicon Valley executive Prakash Bhalerao, "With the solution we've developed, Verismo and Good News Holdings are going to change the way people watch and store their programming all over the world."
Verismo has software and hardware teams in Bangalore, India and the United States dedicated to the task of making THE CLOUD the first fully scaled IPTV network to cover the globe. THE CLOUD Platform has been three years in the making.
THE CLOUD is scaleable to reach 50 million subscribers within a 3-5 year timeframe. The IPTV offering enables the audience to view and download programming directly to the TV, Personal Computer, Mobile or other portable device. The system is capable of both wireless and direct-connect via the internet and includes state-of-the-art digital rights management that allows the content providers full protection within the system.
Tim Clinton, President of the American Association of Christian Counselors, says, "We will be able to use THE CLOUD to provide our 150,000 counselors and students with an 'on demand' training strategy."
According to Prakash Bhalerao, "The rapid response download system from THE CLOUD gives the viewer the option of watching in real time or storing their content on the system, with quality levels that are equal to the original source material. We are confident that our mid 2007 launch is on target."
