Sunrise Telecom First to Deliver Complete Test Capabilities for Verifying VDSL Network and Inside Wiring for IPTV
Extending the breadth and value of its SunSet Modular Test Toolkit (SSMTT) family,
Sunrise Telecom Incorporated
today announced the SSMTT-41 module, an essential tool for triple play to the home deployments. This multi-function test tool is the only unit available to support VDSL line verification function and inside wiring tests in an integrated system. The SSMTT-41 includes a VDSL modem, HPNA analyzer, RF signal level meter, spectrum analyzer, and wiring test features in a single unit.
"Triple play deployments create unique and demanding installation and maintenance scenarios," said Steve Kim, product marketing manager at Sunrise Telecom. "The SSMTT-41 integrates all of the tests required to turn up a VDSL-based IPTV customer, both inside and outside the home, in a single tool. This allows our customers to speed deployment of service, simplify maintenance, and ensure end-user satisfaction."
The easy-to-use SSMTT-41 verifies that inside wiring is capable of supporting IPTV signals by analyzing the HPNA signals on the in-house coax or twisted-pair wiring. The unit verifies cable continuity, detects broken diplexers, provides cable identification and estimates the cable length. Additionally, the SSMTT-41 analyzes RF video signals and identifies interference utilizing the integrated RF signal level meter and spectrum analyzer functions.
By combining these critical test features into a single unit, Sunrise Telecom has created a unique and invaluable tool that dramatically accelerates installation and maintenance activities. By ensuring quality and reliability on every installation, service providers can keep maintenance costs to a minimum by reducing the number of truck rolls. The level of testing and quality assurance provided by the SSMTT-41 leads to high levels of customer satisfaction.
The SunSet Modular Test Toolkit
The SSMTT-41 module is the newest addition to Sunrise Telecom's SunSet MTT (Modular Test Toolkit) family; a sophisticated group of products that help ensure timely delivery of a variety of access network services. With more than 35 test modules now shipping, the handheld SunSet MTT provides field technicians the industry's broadest selection of test options needed to install, verify, and troubleshoot a wide variety of service technologies. The SunSet MTT ACM (Advanced Cable Maintenance) chassis offers a powerful combination of cable maintenance and service verification testing, along with a high resolution color display. The SunSet MTT Basic chassis types are ideal for service verification testing without the cable maintenance features; both color and monochrome display versions are available.
