Orca Demonstrates Latest Advanced IPTV Solution at IBC 2006
Orca Interactive
, a global market leader in developing middleware and applications for IPTV, is exhibiting at IBC 2006, Sept. 8-12 in Amsterdam, where the company will showcase its latest advanced IPTV solutions.
The highlight of the show is the launch of the Product Catalog, a new component of Orca’s industry-leading RiGHTv middleware. The Product Catalog is an enhanced business management system that extends support for flexible business models. It is designed to help IPTV operators support new types of pricing methods for services and innovative bundles, driving industry growth through enhanced revenue generation and customer loyalty.
Visitors to the Orca stand in Hall 2 (2.230) will be able to view the following demonstrations:
Orca’s user interface, addressing the future needs of IPTV subscribers
The new Orca SUI (Subscriber User Interface) incorporates easy-to-access advanced features that guide the user to an active, on-demand experience and help operators to generate revenues by luring and retaining subscribers. By incorporating tools such as browsing and search capabilities, the Orca SUI provides guidance through large content offerings and helps viewers to easily find the programs they want. Additionally, the Orca SUI meets viewer expectations for personalization and sharing, such as individual preference settings for each person in the household and peer-to-peer recommendations, resulting in increased subscriber enjoyment and service usage.
Orca SDP (Service Delivery Platform)
Orca’s RiGHTv middleware has a SDP architecture for seamless integration of centrally managed third-party services. At IBC, visitors will see its capabilities demonstrated via the integration of VOD, games, voting and interactive live TV applications of partners that include Texas Instruments, Fashion TV, Accedo and InLive.
Convergence
Orca will demonstrate the convergence of several services that enhance the relationship between the IPTV service and other Telco services, such as controlling the TV service from a mobile device, purchasing mobile content via the TV, pushing video from the TV to mobile devices, and more.
Orca’s enhanced user experience via Flash
The Flash SUI features a streamlined look and feel with high-quality visual effects and animation delivered at optimum performance levels by leveraging the many design and performance advantages of Flash technology. -more-
Orca’s UI creation tool, SUI SDK for Flash Orca will show its unparalleled openness and flexibility as well as examples of created solutions. The SUI SDK for Flash gives operators control over the look and feel, application offering and STB porting.
In addition, Orca technology can be found in the following partner stands at IBC 2006:
BitBand; Stand number 5.232
Comverse; Stand number 2.115
Optibase; Stand number 2.249
Texas Instruments; Stand number 1.410
Widevine Technologies; Stand number 4.151
The company will also announce new partnerships in the IPTV ecosystem. Orca’s Interactive Alliance is gaining momentum with the addition of new partners to be announced at IBC. By selecting Orca and its Interactive Alliance partners, IPTV operators can enjoy rapid time to market and decreased total cost of ownership through these pre-integrated, certified and interoperable solutions.
