Missed the MotorWeek road test of the 2005 Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6? Want to see what MotorWeek had to say about battery care? Now you can locate and view back episodes of the popular television show instantly - right on your computer.

Fans of MotorWeek - the original televised automotive magazine series, produced by Maryland Public Television - can now download and view the show via the recently launched Tvext Internet TV service. Tvext delivers free and fee-based news and entertainment content via a proprietary desktop console that makes viewing easy and enjoyable. As a special introductory offer, Tvext is giving free points to new users, allowing for hours of viewing at no charge.

According to Tvext founder Trevor Cornwell, consumers can download MotorWeek episodes and watch instantly or save for later viewing, and they can keep favorite shows in a personal library of archived content. Using the Tvext search function, consumers can look up a particular topic or vehicle make and model to identify shows they want to watch. Currently, Tvext has 26 episodes of MotorWeek available from the 2004-05 and 2005-06 seasons.

Hosted by Executive Producer John H. Davis, MotorWeek is viewed on PBS stations across the country and on cable's SPEED channel. A listing of current and back episodes can be found at www.pbs.org/motorweek.

"MotorWeek exemplifies our emphasis on narrowcast programming," said Cornwell. "While most other Internet TV providers are aiming for a general audience with vintage television shows and viral videos, Tvext is focused on specialized programming such as MotorWeek and hard-to-find content, including international news and entertainment."

Tvext currently has agreements in place with some 20 content providers to offer on-demand video programming to consumers on a subscription and pay-as-you-go basis, along with such free content as Reuters News and Trace TV, the international music video channel. Tvext programming is available as part of a subscription package or a la carte. Consumers have the option of making a single $10 purchase to view 10-15 hours of Tvext content, based on a point system, or they can purchase a Tvext Pass for $7.85 that provides the same amount of content and automatically replenishes the account balance as points are used up.
