YMCtv, a New Internet TV Channel in HD
World Digital Media Group launches its Internet TV channel.
Your Music Channel Television
is a global site providing superior quality video on demand, unlike static IP music sites. The Web-based channel celebrates the best of the new and old worlds by showcasing spectacular-quality content that’s always about music.
YMCtv.com
show host and coordinating producer Will Weinand gives an edgy daily Internet broadcast in which he announces that the all-music channel is designed with “you” in mind. Instead of confining viewers to a linear program, YMCtv.com can be user-customized, separating it from simple file-sharing sites like YouTube. Content is designed to be easily e-mailed, digitally downloaded or available for physical purchase. Weinand not only features WDMG-affiliated artists and bands, but also third-party indie music under “Your Music Videos.”
“YMCtv.com is setting a new standard in the Web-based music technology industry,” said Brad M. Smith, chief digital officer. “We have a serious commitment to providing the very best quality possible while always allowing our viewers to see exactly what they want, when they want it. Our videos allow viewers to feel like they’re really inside the recording studio or one-on-one with a celebrity or legend.”
Among the many music features or “channels” on the site is YMCtv’s premier show, “City Sessions,” a program that showcases the vibrant local music scenes of cities across the nation. City Sessions spotlights the hottest indie bands and artists who are close to breaking into the national music scene in each city by producing high-definition shows during a recording studio session. “City Sessions” has already shot more than 500 individual video performances in New York City, Los Angeles, Dallas, Chicago and Nashville. Other YMCtv.com programming includes:
“Your Music Videos” highlights YMC-affiliated musicians and third-party artists;
“Fast Focus” features the music and interview clips from bands and artists, such as Steve Miller, Johnny Cash and Eric Clapton, through interviews and music clips;
“Continents” provides viewers with a taste of world music;
“YMC Concerts” gives viewers that “front-row seat” feeling to shows from bands including DEVO, Blackalicious and Poison;
“Legends” highlights Music Moguls in the recording industry, such as Eddie Kramer, who has worked with The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones, and Mike Curb, one of the biggest forces in music the past three decades through one-on-one interviews.
“The music industry as a whole has a tendency to overlook the bands and artists who are just starting out or trying to break into the national light,” said Michael Fletcher, chief operating officer at WDMG. “YMCtv.com gives these indie artists a platform to stand on, while also providing exceptional quality. Viewers can’t find that high quality, true dedication to music, and a show with a host who’s writing his own content and answering viewer questions anywhere else.”
Bands can submit audio and video samples to YMC at submissions@ymctv.com or by clicking on “join the YMC Team” at the Web site www.ymctv.com where they can upload music and videos to their own page.
