DAVE.TV Rolls Out Content Publishing Network Through IPTV Platform
DAVE.TV
, a global IPTV digital entertainment distribution network, today announces the launch of its Content Publishing Network enabling content owners and publishers, for the first time, to deliver their content simultaneously to the TV, PC, portable and mobile devices all over the world and across multiple service provider networks. DAVE.TV develops IPTV platforms for service providers such as Telcos, CLECs, MSOs and ISPs. DAVE.TV will be exhibiting at the NATPE Conference in Las Vegas January 24-26, 2006 in Booth #748 in the ITA Alternative Upfronts Digital Village.
DAVE.TV's Content Publishing Network offers tremendous opportunities to media-makers, content owners and publishers through the ability to broadcast their content to consumers worldwide simultaneously. The system provides creative publishing with unlimited opportunities to reach new audiences. DAVE.TV's Content Publishing Network allows Publishers to publish to the DAVE.TV network under a Creative Commons License and allows them to choose their business models. Publishers can choose from five business models - Free via ad-sponsorship, Rent (Video On Demand), Subscribe, Buy and Buy and Burn. Publishers, for the first time, now have total control over everything from pricing, use models, business rules, platforms and even what advertising they want associated with their content.
"DAVE.TV aims to become an economically frictionless exchange where content providers can post their content for consumption and purchase, while having full control of rights management, billing, pricing and advertising to create a virtual broadcast ecosystem," says Rex Wong, CEO of DAVE.TV. "This is in stark contrast to traditional broadcasting, where control of distribution defines the economic relationship."
Built on a proprietary Peer-to-Peer (P2P) grid architecture, DAVE.TV delivers compelling digital entertainment, including movies, TV shows, documentaries, music videos, songs and more, efficiently and cost-effectively to multiple platforms. Best of all, a significant amount of DAVE.TV's content will be offered free to the public in an ad-supported model giving consumers a legal alternative to get their digital content. "DAVE.TV's new Content Publishing Network enables content owners and publishers big and small to distribute their content to a worldwide audience," says Mr. Wong. "DAVE.TV empowers content owners and publishers by allowing them to monetize content and reach new markets."
As part of its Digital Delivery Ecosystem, DAVE.TV delivers media content to the PC via the free DAVE Media Center (DMC™) software and to the TV via its XPORT Set-Top Box (STB). Content can then be delivered to portable or mobile devices by connecting them to a DMC-powered PC or XPORT STB. The DMC is an intuitive and easy-to-use PC application allowing consumers to personalize how-what-where-when they want their digital entertainment delivered including videos, music, movies, photographs and much more. The XPORT STB is a complete STB solution that sits on the TV to deliver DAVE.TV content to the TV. The DMC and XPORT can communicate with each other in a Digital Home network whereby videos, music and songs can be streamed over the network from a DMC-powered PC and played on the TV with an XPort STB or vice versa creating a true Digital Home environment.
