The IPTV World Forum in London, taking place from 5-7th March 2007, will be hosting the first award ceremony specifically for the IPTV industry - The IPTV World Series Awards 2007.

The awards will cover the core technology requirements for IPTV, from platform management and the headend through the network and into the customer home. Categories include Best IPTV platform management/middleware/application solution; Best IPTV distribution/transport/delivery solution; Best IPTV headend & video processing technology; Best IPTV customer premise equipment technology; and Best IPTV content protection/rights management solution.

"The IPTV market is rapidly maturing and the time has come for its successes to be recognised," said Ian Johnson, Managing Director of IPTV World Forum organisers, Junction Ltd. "The IPTV World Series Awards 2007 will provide a much-needed showcase and will demonstrate and congratulate the high levels of talent that the IPTV industry has to offer."

Any company or organisation can enter the awards and there is no entry fee. All entries must be received by Friday January 5th 2007 and companies have the opportunity to enter a maximum of ten entries.

The awards will be independently judged by an expert panel and the short-listed companies will be profiled in the February issue of New Video Technology magazine. The judges will include John Moulding, Editor, New Video Technology; Ken Wieland, Editor, Telecommunications International; Steve Hawley, Editor, IPTV News Analyst; Martin Olausson, Senior Analyst, Broadband Media & Communications, Digital Consumer Practice, Strategy Analytics; Julian Clover, Editor, Broadband TV News; and Stuart Thomson, Editor, Cable and Satellite Europe.
