Sigma Designs's media processors will be demonstrated by leading IPTV set-top box manufacturers at the TelcoTV conference. The company will also be demonstrating a wireless UWB multicast from a special meeting room (MR13) on the exhibition floor.

Sigma's SMP8630 series of media processors power the IPTV set-top boxes for over a dozen leading set-top box manufacturers including Motorola, Scientific-Atlanta/Cisco, and Wegener, among others. Exhibiting at TelcoTV, these manufacturers will be demonstrating IPTV set-top boxes, powered by Sigma's media processors, to worldwide telecom companies:

Motorola

Motorola is scheduled to demonstrate their VIP1200 series of IPTV set-top boxes, powered by Sigma's media processors, to offer advanced video formats and HDTV for a complete TV experience along with support for low bitrate video formats, reliable operation and flexible application possibilities.

Scientific Atlanta/Cisco

Also powered by Sigma's media processors, Scientific Atlanta/Cisco will demonstrate their IPN330HD, IPN430, and IPN603 models, all part of their comprehensive series of IPTV set-tops featuring world class expertise in set-top design, software integration and technical support.

Wegener

Wegener will demonstrate their SMD 515 set-top box using Sigma's media processors to deliver high definition video and audio to high speed Internet users along with advanced technology that can deliver HD movies with as little as 5Mbps of data utilizing Window Media 9 video.

High Definition Wireless Streaming Over UWB Demonstration

Sigma will also be demonstrating the first-ever high definition IP Multicasting using ultra-wideband (UWB) over an extended range. The demonstration features a Sigma media processor operating in conjunction with its newly launched UWB-based Windeo Chipset. This demonstration shows how IPTV set-top boxes can be connected throughout the home without reliance on existing wiring, using the high bandwidth and quality-of-service offered by UWB.
