ConceptWave Delivers IPTV Order Management Solution with Teleca
ConceptWave Software Inc.
announced that it has collaborated with
Teleca
to provide an Order Management solution for IPTV service providers.
"Service Providers need to revisit their legacy systems to be successful with IPTV services," said Magnus Andersson, sales director at Teleca's Integration and Business Process Management Solutions unit. "The ConceptWave solution is well suited to enabling an interactive and flexible service for IPTV providers," added Mr. Andersson.
ConceptWave has developed an out-of-the-box application that is geared to the demands of IPTV. The ConceptWave Order Care(R) suite has been augmented with IPTV-specific templates that address order entry, process flows, data models, etc.
ConceptWave Order Care is a fully integrated and highly configurable order management application that addresses product catalog management, order decomposition, fallout management, and partner/supplier integration. Modules can be purchased separately, or as a total product suite.
"Converged services such as IPTV promise to be more transactional and will place additional demands on the order handling function," said Chun-Ling Woon, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at ConceptWave. "The ConceptWave solution has excelled in such demanding application areas."
At the upcoming TeleManagement World conference in Nice, France, Teleca will be demonstrating live how the ConceptWave's Order Care application can help IPTV providers achieve cost-effective fulfillment operations and swiftly launch new services. Teleca is exhibiting at stand #106.

Yeeah they all say its out of the box and when start looking at the toolbox you find that the hidden cost of PS development is so high that it kills your appetite for custom development. Plus the tool box supports writing tons of javascript code which is great to do a proof of concept but try managing the code once you have actually written a decent a pplication. The BPM engine is not BPEL/BPML compliant, its a custom built workflow process engine, non-standard and hard to work with. Cannot export workflows as BPEL/BPML so you again have to retrain your PS people. basically start using this product and you will be hit with unbelievable high costs. my suggestion is to stick to standardized products. Think long term dont try to save initial licensing costs cause you will eventually pay a lot in PS costs on a platform which may not be around.
