ECI Telecom announced the successful deployment of a turnkey triple-play network for one of the leading ISPs in Europe. This ISP, a subsidiary of one of the largest European carriers, has already deployed hundreds of thousands of high-speed, IPTV-ready ADSL lines. Deployment of additional lines is expected in the near future. ECI was chosen as the sole broadband access supplier for the network. The multi-year contract is valued at approximately $20 million.

With the goal of accelerating deployment of IPTV services delivered over Fiber to the Node (FTTN) systems, Sunrise Telecom Incorporated announced its newly developed Home Test Toolkit (HTT) test set, designed specifically to facilitate the deployment of next-generation triple play services.

Deutsche Telekom AG and Premiere AG, the leading pay TV broadcaster in Germany and Austria, have agreed on a strategic partnership. Their aim is to push the new IPTV (Internet Protocol TV) standard and to help interactive television to achieve the breakthrough in Germany. Right on time for the start of the Bundesliga 2006/07 season, the pay TV station will implement an attractive range of programs covering games in Germany's first football league (Bundesliga) as well as matches in the second division. For the start of the 2006/07 season, Deutsche Telekom is introducing an attractive offer that for the first time in German television history will put TV viewers in the director's seat. Via the VDSL network of T-Com, T-Online will complete its live Bundesliga reporting with on-demand offers, constantly updated information and personalized all-games conference coverage. With this innovation upon Premiere's previous all-games conference coverage, soccer fans will be able to follow the highlights of all the Bundesliga matches in their own format.

PCCW Limited and STAR announced that they will work together to explore IPTV pay-TV opportunities in overseas markets.

Leveraging PCCW's expertise in building and operating an IPTV business and STAR's strength and experience in content creation and distribution and the pay-TV business, the two companies will look into opportunities to work with platform operators and media companies in Asia for the rollout of IPTV services.

Irdeto, a subsidiary of multinational South African media group Naspers and the proven expert in content security for digital TV, IPTV and mobile networks, announced today that its Irdeto Mobile Broadcast security solution has been selected to protect the pioneering DVB-H trials of South African broadcasting companies MultiChoice and M-Net.
