Backspace Communications has delivered their IPTV Power Plant to Africa. The "IPTV Power Plant" is a complete IPTV solution-in-a-box. The system includes all components necessary to encode, broadcast, manage, and display IPTV and Internet Television. It is shipped pre-racked, pre-cabled, and pre-configured so that all a customer needs to do is to plug in power, video sources, and an Internet connection -- and then begin signing up subscribers for service. Prior to delivery, the system can even be customized with the customer's name and logo on the Interactive Programming Guide and delivered complete with pre-programmed sign-up interfaces. The Backspace Communications "IPTV Power Plant" system allows subscribers to view content on all three screens: a television screen, a computer, or even a mobile device.

Verimatrix and CSI Digital announce GCI has selected D-Video! for its end-to-end IPTV solution. CSI Digital's D-Video! has been integrated with the Verimatrix Video Content Authority System for IPTV to provide GCI a studio- and broadcaster-approved IPTV video package solution.

The IQPinPoint system deployed by Swisscom utilizes the IneoQuest family of network probes including IQMediaMonitor for head-end and core, as well as the new Cricket family of probes for network edge to the customer premise and the iVMS, the industry's first multi-dimensional video quality management system designed to remotely monitor and automatically troubleshoot video quality across the entire network.

Tilgin has won an order of its IPTV technology from the broadband subsidiary of one of the largest and most influential multi-utility companies in Denmark. The order value of this initial order is approx 0.5 million USD. Tilgin will be delivering its High Definition Mood 400 IP set-tops and management software as part of an end-to-end IPTV ecosystem.

The Danish utility has extensively deployed a Fiber-to-the-Home network and will deliver a broad portfolio of next-generation broadband services, including High Definition IPTV. The services will be commercially roll-out directly. The company has more than one hundred thousand residential and business customers, whom they over time will be able to offer High Definition IPTV as they continue to build out its network.

Scandinavian telecoms operator Telenor has selected IPTV solutions from Thomson for deployment of IPTV services in Norway, Sweden and Denmark. The Thomson end to end solution includes the SmartVision service management platform, video on demand servers and a choice of set-top boxes including one incorporating PVR functionality with local hard disk recording.

Thomson is providing Telenor with its SmartVision video services platform, which incorporates middleware, VoD servers and two ranges of IP set top boxes. In addition, Thomson is supplying full system design, engineering and integration services including training and maintenance, as well as integrating the conditional access solution of Conax for content security.

Guangxi Telecom has chosen UTStarcom's industry-leading RollingStream IPTV platform to deploy a new interactive advertising system. Guangxi Telecom is the first service provider in China to deploy IPTV for building-based video advertising.

UTStarcom will provide Guangxi Telecom with 3,600 concurrent IPTV streams for the initial deployment of the interactive advertising system in 14 Guangxi cities. In the first phase, set-top boxes will be deployed in supermarkets, department stores, office buildings and in Guangxi Telecom's facilities in Nanning, Liuzhou, Guiling, Qinzhou, Guigang, Wuzhou, Beihai and Baise.

Verimatrix and Motorola have entered into a comprehensive reseller agreement whereby the market-leading Verimatrix Video Content Authority System for IPTV has been integrated with Motorola's end-to-end IPTV solution. Motorola's advanced VIP series IP set-top boxes fully support the VCAS for IPTV solution and are deployed in IPTV systems around the globe. Motorola and Verimatrix are working together to integrate and certify new VIP set-top models.

UTStarcom has been named "Most Trusted Company" in India in the areas of IPTV and broadband leadership by VARIndia. VARIndia is a widely circulated IT trade media publication that covers more than 95 percent of the channel markets in India. UTStarcom is receiving the award for the second year in a row.

Last year, UTStarcom was named "Most Trusted Company" in the area of broadband infrastructure because its regional IPTV deployments were in early stages.

Tilgin announces an initial order from one of its global partners to assist them in their end-to-end IPTV delivery to a leading tier one operator in Southern Europe. Tilgin will provide one of the leading global telecom companies and the tier one Southern European operator with Tilgin’s Mood 400 HDTV set-top box solution for IPTV. This initial order for 1700 units is intended for the operator’s IPTV service soft launch in September this year. With this order Tilgin is an important partner in several significant operators’ ongoing IPTV launches in Europe.

This order is a result of the earlier announced global cooperation agreement with the leading systems integrator for inclusion of the Tilgin offering within the systems integrator’s IPTV end-to-end solutions.
