Verizon launches two new channels on Verizon FiOS TV , A&E in high definition and the new FOX Business Network, giving customers additional choices for entertainment and business news. The channels are available in all Verizon FiOS TV markets.

"We're continuing to add great programming to keep Verizon FiOS TV at the head of the pack," said Terry Denson, vice president - Verizon FiOS TV content and programming. "Customers deserve it, and we're determined to stay No. 1."

Verizon is bringing new ideas and products to the subscription TV marketplace as it celebrates the second anniversary of Verizon FiOS TV this week and as customers and industry analysts alike praise the all-fiber-optic TV service.

The service is a hit with customers. In the short two years that Verizon has been offering FiOS TV in its first market, Texas, more than 25 percent of the customers there who could subscribe to FiOS TV have done so. Penetration for FiOS Internet, launched in August 2004, exceeded 35 percent in Texas as of June 30, 2007.

Residents of the Westchester County city of Peekskill and the Long Island village of East Williston are a major step closer to having a real choice for their cable television services, thanks to newly approved agreements authorizing Verizon to offer its FiOS TV service, delivered over the most advanced fiber-optic network straight to customers' homes.

Peekskill's Common Council and the Board of Trustees for East Williston both granted video franchises to Verizon Monday (Sept. 10), paving the way for video choice in the community. These votes bring to 61 the total number of New York communities that have approved video franchises for Verizon.

Verizon expands its industry-leading FiOS TV service to more New York consumers, which is provided on the nation's most advanced fiber-optic network straight to customers' homes. Verizon is now taking orders for FiOS TV in parts of the Westchester County communities of Yonkers, Scarsdale and Bronxville, and on Long Island in the villages of Floral Park and South Floral Park. In addition, Verizon has launched FiOS TV in the following parts of the Town of Islip: Bayport, Bay Shore, Bohemia, Hauppauge, Holbrook, Oakdale, Ronkonkoma, Sayville, West Islip and West Sayville.

Verizon announces that its ultra-fast FiOS Internet service is now available to customers in parts of Brooklyn's Canarsie, Mill Basin, Georgetown and Bergen Beach communities. The service is also available in several buildings in Williamsburg and downtown Brooklyn. FiOS Internet is already available in many other New York communities, including the other New York City boroughs and throughout the state. Additional parts of Brooklyn and other New York neighborhoods will become eligible for the service as Verizon continues to deploy its new fiber-optic network.

Verizon introduces Verizon FiOS TV's interactive media guide in Massachusetts. The new guide helps customers quickly and easily find and enjoy content from TV listings, video-on-demand catalogs and digital video recorders as well as personal music and photos from the home network. Future versions of the guide will add Internet radio, videos, podcasts and games to the FiOS TV multimedia platform.

FiOS TV's interactive media guide is now deployed to customers in 51 cities and towns in Massachusetts as well as in parts of New Jersey, Indiana, Rhode Island and Virginia -- and will soon be available in more states. There is no additional charge for the guide.

Verizon expands its industry-leading FiOS TV service in New York. Verizon is now taking orders for FiOS TV in parts of the Long Island communities of Deer Park, Dix Hills, East Meadow and Levittown. Verizon also has expanded service to more households in Commack and Huntington Station. The company already offers FiOS TV in more than 100 New York communities. Verizon also has been granted franchises by the Town of Islip, Floral Park, South Floral Park, Bronxville, Scarsdale and Yonkers, and will launch FiOS TV in these communities soon.

The Verizon FiOS TV service in Manatee County expanded by 3,300 households and in the Venice and Osprey area to 6,660 households as Verizon began offering its triple-play bundles of Internet, TV and unlimited voice services in Palmetto, Palma Sola, Venice, and Osprey. The FiOS bundles are delivered over Verizon's all-fiber network, directly to people's homes and businesses.

Initially, the majority of the households eligible for FiOS will be in Palmetto, however it's projected to grow to more than 10,000 households in Venice and Osprey by years end. Verizon is projecting that 4,000 more households will be open for service by year-end, with about half of those in the Palma Sola community, as Verizon completes the necessary construction and engineering activities to expand availability. While FiOS has been available to other areas largely in the middle and southern portions of Manatee County, today's announcement marks the first expansion into northwestern parts of the county.

Consumers in 122,000 Indiana households in Fort Wayne, New Haven and Huntertown will immediately reap the benefits of video choice as Verizon introduces its industry-leading FiOS television service here. The launch of FiOS TV makes a broad range of programming choices and superior picture quality available to thousands of Hoosiers who already enjoy FiOS voice and Internet service, which delivers crystal-clear sound and fast, reliable Internet connections.

With the launch of FiOS TV in Indiana to nearly 350,000 potential television viewers, Verizon now offers its video service in 12 states. Last month, Verizon announced that it had nearly half a million FiOS TV subscribers and 1 million FiOS Internet subscribers. At the end of the first quarter, the company offered TV service to more than 3 million households.

Through a network download, FiOS TV customers will be upgraded to the new guide automatically at no additional cost, and they will continue to use their existing set-top boxes and universal remote controls. In the days leading up to the launch in each market, customers will receive a "driver's manual" and other communications about the guide's cool new features.

Verizon FiOS Internet delivered over the nation's most advanced, all-digital fiber-optic network straight to customers' doors -- continues to earn high marks from its users, as the service is ranked first in PC World's latest Best and Worst ISPs survey.

Verizon FiOS Internet was the only service to achieve top ratings in each of the survey's nine categories: overall satisfaction, connection reliability, download speed, upload speed, customer service, technical support, e-mail service, spam blocking, and antivirus/security. The service is now enjoyed by more than 1 million homes and businesses.

Verizon is now taking orders for FiOS TV in parts of Bayville, the Town of North Hempstead, New Hyde Park, Sands Point, the Town of Haverstraw, West Haverstraw, Chestnut Ridge and the Town of North Castle, including the unincorporated hamlets within each of the eight towns.

The company already offers FiOS TV in more than 70 New York communities through cable franchises that have been approved in White Plains, Rye Brook, Irvington, Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry, Tarrytown, Eastchester, Mount Kisco, Elmsford, Port Chester, Tuckahoe, Orangetown, Piermont, the Town of Greenburgh, Airmont, Clarkstown, Nyack, South Nyack, Upper Nyack, Grandview-on-Hudson, Massapequa Park, Cedarhurst, Laurel Hollow, Lynbrook, Mineola, East Rockaway, Farmingdale, Valley Stream, Freeport, Williston Park, Huntington, Smithtown, Hempstead and Oyster Bay. Verizon also has been granted franchises by Mount Pleasant and Old Field and will launch FiOS TV in these communities soon.

More than 1 million households and businesses across the country now enjoy the benefits of Verizon's FiOS service, delivered straight to their doors on the nation's most advanced, all-digital, all-fiber network.

The Rich and Marjorie Bayer family of Massapequa, N.Y., are the one millionth customer to receive a FiOS Internet installation since the service was launched in August 2004. The family of five also enjoys voice service and FiOS TV over Verizon's groundbreaking network.

Nearly half a million customers now have Verizon's state-of-the-art FiOS TV service in their homes. FiOS TV was introduced in September 2005, just 20 months ago.

With the click of a remote control and the departure of a caravan of Verizon service trucks on their way to installation appointments, competition for cable TV service arrived in Rhode Island Monday (June 18).

Verizon launched FiOS TV in the state, making a broad range of programming choices and superior picture quality available to some 80,000 households in seven inaugural communities.

The event marks the 11th state where Verizon is offering FiOS TV. The service is now available to more than 3 million homes in the United States.

The wait is over for more than 10,000 households in southwestern Pasco County as Verizon announces the availability of and the company's popular FiOS triple-play bundles to parts of this area. The services are delivered over Verizon's all-fiber network, directly to people's homes and businesses.

Previously, FiOS services were available to more than 66,000 households elsewhere in Pasco County, primarily in the Wesley Chapel and Land O Lakes areas, as well as other nearby locations. This is the first expansion of FiOS service to new areas in Pasco County.

"We are steadily adding to our fiber footprint in Pasco County and work daily to bring in even more households in the community," said John Ferrell, Verizon's senior vice president and general manager for the Southeast region. "We have been receiving regular inquiries from citizens in and around New Port Richey who are eager to experience the difference fiber can mean in their telecommunications and TV services. I'm happy to say that today we can make many of those people satisfied FiOS customers, with more to follow in the near future."
