Connexion by Boeing, a business unit of The Boeing Company, ushered in the new year by announcing evolutions in its pricing and service enhancements for its real-time high-speed Internet and entertainment services to airline passengers in flight.

The service enhancements include an expanded delivery of four channels of live global television to airlines that offer the Connexion by Boeing service, and implementation of Yahoo! as the exclusive search engine on the service's portal used by passengers on flights to access the Internet and email.

According to newly released report from Dittberner Associates Inc. the incremental IPTV equipment market will only reach $336 Million in 2013 up from $30 Million in 2005. The number of IPTV subscribers, will reach 53 Million globally in 2013 from about 2 Million as of end of last year.

The report provided an in-depth appraisal of the impact of offering IPTV service on the Access, Aggregation and Backbone networks. The forecast for the incremental increase due to IPTV for these three market segments in 2013 are shown in Table 1.

Siemens Communications Inc. announced the addition of a new regional broadband customer, Oxford Networks. With the Siemens SURPASS Home Entertainment portfolio of IPTV solutions, Oxford Networks is providing advanced IP television services - via fiber to the home (FTTH) - to customers in Central and Western Maine.

Many of Oxford Networks' customers, Gunderson noted, are already enjoying new interactive services such as on-demand entertainment, long distance learning from the home and video conferencing. Oxford Networks is now equipped to provide IPTV services to more than 7,000 of its customers.

BroadRelay, Inc. announced the launch of its new Chinese-language online entertainment channel under the "SIVOO" brand name. The Company also announced the signing of a three-year agreement with the Silk Road Company for additional programming to be added to the channel in the near future. This content includes 8 - 12 hours of unique television programming from China daily, including news, music, sports, variety shows, children's programming and political news. BroadRelay has the exclusive international broadband distribution rights for each day's programming for six months.

Verizon Chairman and CEO Ivan Seidenberg told investors he sees sustainable shareholder value creation in 2006 and beyond, based on network investments that have produced product innovations, operational efficiencies and other competitive advantages for the company in the wireless, broadband and business markets.

Seidenberg said he is encouraged by the market acceptance of FiOS TV, the video offering supported by Verizon's advanced fiber-to-the-premises network. In Verizon’s first market -- Keller, Texas -- the company now has a market penetration of about 20 percent for FiOS TV since the service was launched in late September 2005. He added that Verizon continues to see strong demand and building momentum for all data services, including FiOS broadband and DSL services.

Kreatel Communications today announced the agreement with Bonnier-owned FastTV to supply set-top boxes for FastTV's Scandinavian IPTV service. Deliveries of Kreatel IP-STB 1510 and Kreatel TV Software have already started.

In cooperation with city and regional networks and Swedish Space Corporation for the infrastructure and playout, FastTV offers broadband television services including more than 50 digital TV channels, video on demand, email, and EPG to a large number of households in cities across Sweden, Denmark and Norway.
