Zeugma will demonstrate the ability for broadband service providers to deliver movies and TV episodes from Netflix to Roku digital video players with guaranteed quality of service at TelcoTV (booth #841). The demonstration will highlight the ability of the Zeugma Services Node and the Zeugma SmartVideo application to dynamically identify Netflix internet video streams, perform connection admission control, and incrementally allocate the appropriate amount of bandwidth exclusively to that video stream. Together, these capabilities represent the basis of an opt-in premium internet video service that, according to recent surveys by IDC, consumers increasingly desire and are willing to pay for.

AT&T launches the public beta of VideoCrawler, an innovative new Web application designed to provide a better way for people to search for, organize and share online videos and other multimedia content. Developed in collaboration with Divvio, VideoCrawler indexes hundreds of millions of video clips from thousands of sites, with new sites and millions of clips added every day. Enter a search term and you’ll receive consolidated results from across this vast index. From there, you can organize your favorites into collections, which you can choose to keep private or share with others via the VideoCrawler site or social networking widgets.

SES AMERICOM announced that more than sixty-five telcos in 31 states have signed up for IP-PRIME. The market has adopted IP-PRIME either as a complete IPTV programming solution offering more than 200 standard definition and more than 50 high definition channels transported to the head end, or as an exclusive HD solution installed as an overlay to existing IPTV operations. Of the current telco customers, more than two dozen are commercially delivering IP-PRIME to subscribers today, with another dozen expected to “turn on” by year’s end.

MGM and YouTube announced a multiple channel commitment that kicks off with "Impact," a channel dedicated to promoting MGM's VOD high octane action programming, and "American Gladiators", a channel which showcases highlights and full episodes from the classic show that took America by storm during the 1980s and 1990s.

Brightcove and Conde Nast Publications announce a corporate-wide deal enabling the publisher to use the Brightcove online video platform to launch advertising-supported video initiatives across the company's websites. The first Conde Nast websites to launch with Brightcove include Wired.com, Portfolio.com, Glamour.com, Parade.com, and Self.com.

While threats of financial collapse lurk at every corner, global Telcos apparently did enough belt-tightening back in 2000 to 2003 to lessen their exposure to financial volatility. Multimedia Research Group's latest IPTV Global Forecast shows that global IPTV subscribers will grow from 20.4 million IPTV subscribers in 2008 to 89.6 million in 2012. To drive this growth, IPTV Operators worldwide are expected to continue investing in improved Quality-of-Service, ease-of-operation, HD content, exclusive programming and time-shifting as differentiating features.

CloverLeaf has signed an agreement with Accedo to distribute Accedo's Funspot games to North American independent telephone companies. With this agreement, CloverLeaf will now offer two leading advanced interactive TV services -- Accedo's Funspot games and CloverLeaf's own DotDaily localized news and information walled garden. For the first time, North American independent service providers will be able to obtain both interactive games and walled garden services from one local supplier.

Motorola announces the Motorola IPTV Ecosystem Integration and Support Service, a suite of services to help service providers cost-effectively design, deploy and integrate IPTV systems. The IPTV services suite is the latest addition to Motorola's comprehensive IPTV portfolio, which is designed to help service providers quickly roll out new products and services.

Nielsen Online finds that all four television networks enjoyed month-over-month growth in online video viewers in September, coinciding with the season premieres of many popular and new television shows. NBC.com had the largest increase in video viewers, growing 312 percent month-over-month, followed by FOX Broadcasting and ABC.com, with 165 percent and 105 percent growth, respectively.
