Limelight Networks announces the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit has affirmed a lower court decision finding in favor of the Company in the case Level 3 Communications, LLC. v. Limelight Networks, Inc (United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, Civil Action No. 2:07cv589).

The ruling, issued by the Appeals Court without opinion under Rule 36, affirms a January 2009 jury decision that Limelight Networks does not infringe the Level 3 patents at issue.

AT&T introduces U-verse Online, the newly rebranded and expanded AT&T Entertainment website that lets you watch streaming TV shows, movies and video clips on your PC. U-verse Online is open to any online user at att.net/uverseonline, and it offers additional features and account integration for AT&T U-verse TV customers.

U-verse Online is part of AT&T's strategy to make popular U-verse content available to consumers across multiple screens, including the TV, PC and mobile devices. In March, AT&T previewed plans to offer U-verse Mobile, a mobile app that will allow U-verse TV customers to download and watch select shows on their Wi-Fi enabled mobile phones later this year.

StarHub has installed the Envivio Mobile TV head-end featuring the 4Caster C4 Three Screens encoder/transcoder, from Envivio, to extend the reach of the "StarHub TV on Mobile" service to more 3G mobile customers, including those using the iPhone. The encoding solution has also enabled StarHub to further enhance the efficiency of network resources in delivering its mobile TV service, which offers 25 premium branded channels of news, lifestyle, documentary and entertainment programs.

Widevine has been selected by DISH Network to provide adaptive streaming, virtual DVD-like “trick play” and digital rights management for the pay-TV provider’s TV Everywhere service.

ANT has been selected by global high tech telecommunications company Kathrein, to deploy HbbTV services on its new range of STBs. ActiveVideo Networks and SMiT announced at the ANGA Cable Show that they have integrated the ActiveVideo CloudTV platform with SMiT CI Plus modules to provide enhanced interactive television experiences for cable subscribers.

In its booth (#L37) at the May 4-6 show, ActiveVideo will show how, Cloud TV enables operator-branded menuing on CI Plus enabled television, even without a set top box, when combined with the Ethernet or WiFi connectivity of the host TV as a return channel.
