AT&T announced the expansion of its AT&T U-verse services to more than 500,000 living units across Sacramento. U-verse services include AT&T U-verse TV, AT&T U-verse High Speed Internet and AT&T U-verse Voice. The introduction of these new services to more living units across metro Sacramento is part of AT&T's ongoing expansion of AT&T U-verse availability. AT&T U-verse first launched in Sacramento in August 2007.

Sigma Designs demonstrated a full line of hybrid IP set-top box solutions for cable, satellite and the Brazilian International Standard Digital Broadcast - Television (ISDB-T), also called SBTVD. UTStarcom announced that it has provided the Gigabit and Ethernet Passive Optical Network products to support Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited on its fibre to home service which was successfully launched in India on 23rd July 2011.

BSNL has already installed FTTH systems in nearly 134 cities across India to provide high speed Data, Video, Voice, Cable TV services to its FTTH customers. BSNL hopes to have around 6 million customers by the year 2015.

The FTTH service works with the help of a ring-based optical fibre network that ensures high speed connectivity. FTTH broadband service can provide a downlink of 2.56 Gbps and uplink speed of 1.25Gbps. It relies on the Self Healing Network to provide seamless triple play service.

ActiveVideo was awarded damages totaling $115 million in the jury trial of the company's patent infringement suit against Verizon Communications. The decision upholds ActiveVideo's rights as the inventor of industry-leading technology in the delivery of advanced television applications such as video-on-demand and interactive TV.

Following three weeks of proceedings, a jury in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia found that Verizon had infringed on all asserted claims of the intellectual property owned by ActiveVideo during the deployment of Verizon's FiOS television service.

TiVUS has completed deployment of its new television ad-insertion technology at the Company's inaugural HD IPTV in-room entertainment installation in a 1408 room Host Hotels & Resorts property in downtown Philadelphia.

TiVUS' agreement with Host Hotels to deploy its new HD IPTV systems in Host properties was previously announced in March of this year. Host Hotels & Resorts is the largest lodging real estate investment trust and one of the largest owners of luxury and upper-upscale hotels.

Savtira announces the Savtira Cloud Commerce platform will include internet TV channels. Savtira selected Vivicast Media as the company's content aggregator for subscription-based internet channels.

Savtira's Software-as-a-Service Cloud Commerce solution covers both digital and physical goods, using e-commerce to sell everything from downloadable entertainment programs to consumer electronics. All Savtira eStores are branded and custom-tailored for Savtira clients so that no two eStores are alike. The new arrangement with Vivicast allows Savtira to deliver a suite of subscription linear channels to multiple user devices like tablets and smartphones. Vivicast has distribution rights to networks ranging from full-time 3D, music, professional sports and unique lifestyle channels to varied and robust packages of international programming.

SmartLabs started to deploy the large-scale unified IPTV platform for Rostelecom service subscribers in all Russian Federation regions.

Within the project, all separate IPTV platforms currently run in the regions will be replaced with the unified IPTV platform based on a bunch of SmartLabs products offering a unified set of services and enabled with a state-of-the-art, fast, animated and nice-looking user interface.

During the preceding six months, the telecom operator had been conducting a tender to select a unified IPTV platform provider. The largest global and Russian IPTV solution developers and integrators took part in the tender.
