ADC, a leading supplier of infrastructure solutions for fiber-to-the-x (FTTX) networks, announced that Consolidated Telecommunications Company (CTC) of Northern Minnesota is deploying ADC's OmniReach ^TM FTTX solutions as the foundation for providing their customers with all-fiber Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), Internet Protocol TV (IPTV) and high-speed data services as part of a competitive build-out scheduled to begin this summer.

Endavo Media and Communications, Inc. and WV Fiber, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, announced plans to distribute Endavo-enabled IP content and services, including voice, video and application level data services, over WV's fiber network, making them available to communities and service providers nationwide. This implementation follows a November 2004 announcement of the companies' intention to jointly develop the first nationwide IP Multicast Network across America.

The Dutch network operator KPN has chosen Siemens as its partner for the development and installation of television over the Internet Protocol (IP). This further strengthens cooperation between the two companies after KPN opted for Siemens as the strategic IP partner for its entire fixed network and mobile phone business at the end of last year. KPN plans to introduce digital television over its DSL network for the first time during the course of this year, using the provisional designation "IP TV".

Path 1 Network Technologies Inc., a leading provider of products that enable the transmission of broadcast-quality video over IP networks, announced that it has received its first order for its Vx8000 video gateway. The order, valued in excess of $375,000, is from a major broadcast operator for use in the U.S. market. The customer will use the Vx8000 gateways to facilitate the reliable transport of all TV broadcasts (including high-definition programs) between its major broadcast centers and primary distribution facilities. This private IP network, operating 24/7, will be used to transport the customer's complete channel lineup, which is then distributed to all of its customers across the United States. The order is scheduled to be filled within the next several weeks.

RBN Inc, http://www.rbni.com, an industry-leading designer and manufacturer of carrier-class optical transport solutions for metro and access networks, announced a low cost, IPTV digital broadcast solution for carriers and MSOs.

Paradyne, a leading provider of triple play broadband loop carriers (BLCs) and Ethernet access equipment, announced an expanded relationship with Og Vodafone, Iceland's Second Largest Broadband Services Provider, marking the first BLC deployment in Iceland.

Optibase, Ltd., a leading provider of advanced digital video solutions announced that a high-end surveillance application based on Optibase's video streaming solutions will be presented at Le Bourget, the world's premier air show. Country's 22nd Largest Telco Selects #1 Deployed IPTV Network

Coaxsys Incorporated, makers of the #1 deployed IPTV network, announced its relationship with Hargray Communications, the 22nd largest telco in the U.S. Hargray, with nearly 100,000 customers surrounding Hilton Head, South Carolina, will be using Coaxsys' TVnet to instantly deploy high-speed IP networks in customers' homes without having to rewire with Cat-5 cable.

Digital Identity, Italy's largest streaming media developer and services provider and California based EdgeStream, Inc announced that they have entered into a partnership to provide the ‘Next Generation Video on Demand and IPTV Streaming Technology platform" in Italy. With this agreement, Digital Identity will enable its network with the EdgeStream software and also License the EdgeStream technology to customers who will then be able to provide uninterrupted DVD quality video on demand streaming content to every broadband user in Italy and globally using the public Internet. With the availability of the EdgeStream platform, content providers and owners across Italy are now assured of delivering a quality experience to their consumers at the lowest cost per stream while building profitable businesses.

Tata Consultancy Services, Ltd. (TCS), a global IT services provider, and Orca Interactive, a global leader in the IPTV market, announced a partnership to offer worldwide IPTV system integration and service development over RiGHTv, Orca's IPTV middleware.

CNet reports that Siemens is looking to round out its IPTV offering as it gears up to compete with Microsoft in the IPTV market. One of the primary signs indicating Siemens interest is the acquisition of Myrio in April. Myrio offers service provider and content-management software and software for the set-top boxes. Yet even with the purchase of Myrio, Siemens is still lacking some software pieces to complete the offering.
