Verimatrix announced the Verimatrix Video Content Authority System for IPTV will be deployed on the NTV-PLUS wholesale network to secure video for the "IPTV NTV-PLUS" service via local broadband network operators. NTV-PLUS, a leading Russian satellite broadcaster covering all of European Russia, Siberia and Ukraine with more than 2 million subscribers, is adding Verimatrix's cardless security solution to support a wider range of hybrid set-top boxes that provide more choice and flexibility for local broadband resellers.

Imago Group has announced a new initiative for the IPTV market sector. Breeze Technologies, the MPEG and IPTV solutions developer, represented exclusively by Imago in Europe, has formed a new partnership with French IPTV middleware provider, Vianeos, which will allow the two companies to deliver an ‘IPTV in a box' solution.

The agreement was finalised at last month's IPTV World Forum in London and brings together Breeze Technologies' TVIUM DVB-T set-top box, which captures and distributes digital TV and radio across the IP network, with Vianeos's Octopus middleware solution that allows customers to manage all the multimedia content distributed across their IPTV network.

Private Media Group announces the company has entered into an expanded agreement with long time IPTV partner, Free, an internet service provider in France. Leveraging Free's leading distribution platform which includes free-to-air TV channels, PVR, and catch-up services, along with extensive user base, Private will have 100% coverage throughout France with terms that will continue to significantly improve revenue generation through increased exposure and premier positioning.

Under the terms of the agreement, Private's content is now also featured on the Free platform in the "Hot Video Store" Video-on-Demand shop of Hot Video magazine, the most popular adult magazine in France. The new offering went live in March this year.

Amino has secured a follow-on order to provide its hybrid/OTT technology to support Telecom Italia's deployment of its Cubovision all-in-one multimedia broadband service.

Launched in December 2010, Cubovision offers home TV access to a range of digital terrestrial TV channels, leading web TV sources, and pay-per-view films as well as personal content such as photos, videos and music. Connected to the TV aerial and ADSL broadband, Cubovision transforms the traditional home TV into an online multimedia powerhouse offering a broad range of digital services and content via a single remote control.

Anevia announces that Europa Network has chosen to deploy the Anevia ViaMotion server. Europa Network provides its customers with broadband internet access and English TV service targeting the British community in Spain.

Anevia ViaMotion is a carrier grade video streaming server supporting video-on-demand and live TV delivery over managed IP networks and over the Internet. ViaMotion supports a range of video protocols including RTSP, HTTP Live Streaming, Microsoft Silverlight Smooth Streaming, WebM, and Adobe Flash.

Harmonic announces that Post and Telecommunications of Kosovo has deployed Harmonic's IP-based digital video headend solutions for its new IPTV service. PTK selected an integrated Harmonic solution -- ProView integrated receiver/decoders, Electra 8000 dual-channel SD/HD encoders, Ion AVC encoders, and NMX Digital Service Manager -- based on performance, video quality, and scalability.

Harmonic's ProView 7000 IRDs are used to receive and decode digital content sources, and Harmonic's Electra 8000 encoders enable PTK to efficiently deliver up to four full-resolution, HD services within a single 1-RU chassis. The Electra 8000 also provides advanced features such as simultaneous secondary output, up/down-conversion, and automatic audio level adjustment. The Ion AVC solution provides up to four encoders in a single chassis, providing PTK with an effective solution for expanding digital video services while minimizing capital and operating expenses. The NMX Digital Service Manager offers PTK an easy-to-use yet powerful solution for network configuration and management.

The Spanish TV station "V Televisión" – Grupo Voz is using encoder and decoder products from Teracue IPTV Systems.

The products are being used for live TV contribution and for the connection of the different broadcast sites. With the ENC-200 encoders and DEC-200 decoders it is possible to send and to transmit video/audio signals in H.264 format over an IP connection.

For the contribution and live links a dedicated 3Mbps network connection is being used. Over this network V Televisión is transmitting SDI broadcast signals and video feeds.

NextiraOne has been chosen by the Bordeaux community to design a new, secure, all-IP network that delivers voice, data and video communications, video surveillance and a range of applications. These include centralised technical building management, badge reading, access control and IPTV.

The Urban Community of Bordeaux is made up of 27 municipalities with more than 660,000 inhabitants and is the sixth largest community in France with over 2,500 employees. It has a central head office and 32 additional sites. The community’s IT network was too old to support new technologies and the Bordeaux administration wanted to make use of new applications to increase staff efficiency, improve communications internally and with the general public. It also wanted to be able to broadcast the activities of elected representatives at council meetings and to integrate video surveillance into one single network.

Anevia announces that TV3, the Catalan public broadcasting channel, has chosen to deploy its IPTV gateways for use within the TV3 broadcasting facilities.

Anevia IPTV gateways receive live television broadcasts in DVB and analogue formats and streams them over an IP network.

TV3 is the main Catalan-language TV channel owned by the Televisió de Catalunya public broadcasting corporation.

On Demand Group announces that broadband television operator TTNET has launched its IPTV service, Tivibu Ev in Turkey, in a move to further upgrade its innovative Tivibu brand and range of services. TTNET’s Tivibu Web TV service, which launched one year ago, has already reached almost one-million subscribers. TTNET is also making Tivibu Cep, a mobile version of Tivibu, available in the second quarter of the year.

ANT announces that leading provider of multimedia system-on-a-chip for home entertainment applications, Sunplus Technology, has licensed the ANT Galio Platform and core TV applications. SES ASTRA announces a cooperation with Deutsche Telekom in Germany to combine ASTRA's broad satellite free-TV offer including HD+ with Deutsche Telekom's IPTV product Entertain. The offer will include all free-to-air, TV and radio channels in Standard and HD on ASTRA including HD+ as well as the typical Entertain services like Video on Demand, a TV archive and an Electronic Programme Guide. Entertain Sat also comprises time shift functions and hard disk recording with 500 GB memory. Flat rate telephony and Internet will also be included. Entertain Sat will be available for households all across Germany with a DSL connection of at least 3 Mbit/s.

HD+ is a platform launched by SES ASTRA in Germany for access to free-TV programmes in HD. The HD+ offer currently comprises eight German private free-TV programmes in HD: RTL HD, Vox HD, RTL2 HD, ProSieben HD, Sat.1 HD, kabel eins HD, Sport1 HD and sixx HD.

xplace uses Teracue MC-SCREEN encoders to distribute digital signage advertising signals in HD quality on hundreds of LCD and plasma screens.

xplace's newest product is currently installed in the TV departments of the Dutch Media-Saturn stores: Instore-TV via IP-TV. It provides digital signage on all available LCD and TV displays. In addition, live TV and videos on demand can be played on all TV equipment in highest HD quality.

This is done by using a video distribution system based on an IP network. Thus a single live video stream can be provided on any number of devices.

The ESPRIT arena in Düsseldorf, one of Europe's most modern multifunctional arenas for sports and entertainment events and with a spectator capacity of up to 66,000, uses IPTV products from Teracue.

Serbia Broadband and On Demand Group announce the launch of a full suite of transactional VOD and subscription VOD TV services to SBB subscribers in Serbia and Slovenia. The services include blockbuster and classic movies, popular TV series, top comedy, drama, documentaries, kids programming and music videos, which SBB subscribers will be able to watch on demand with full control to pause, rewind, fast forward or watch over again – whenever they want.
