NeuLion and SVT World announce a new partnership and debut of a dedicated television service for the Swedish community in the U.S. and Canada.

By partnering with NeuLion, SVT now provides a Swedish television service to the homes in a previously untapped market through its IPTV service. NeuLion delivers an end-to-end service for SVT and this is the first time SVT will be available in North America as a linear broadcast.

Pace announces that Pace France has signed a conditional agreement to acquire Bewan Systems, the Paris-based IP and cable gateways specialist. The consideration for the acquisition, part of which is subject to achievement of earn out targets, will be payable in cash and will not exceed €12.5 million. The transaction is expected to be completed during the second quarter of 2010.

Alcatel-Lucent says that Ukraine's Velton Telecom will launch a field trial of IPTV services to business and residential subscribers in Kharkov and Poltava. Alcatel-Lucent adds it has been selected as the network integrator, using the Microsoft Mediaroom platform and providing professional services - including project management, consulting, network design, installation, software integration, commissioning, and operations.

Netgem and Algeria Telecom announce the launch of SAFIR, the first IPTV service in Algeria. SAFIR is being rolled out on the back of Africa’s largest FTTH fibre optic network and will offer Algeria Telecom broadband customers a compelling mix of advanced digital TV services and a choice of 60 IP-delivered TV channels

Tilgin has won an second important order for IP-technology from TRE-FOR Bredbånd, a Danish fiber operator. Based on Tilgin’s solution, TRE-FOR will enhance its consumer offering with Triple Play services to fiber-connected households within the Profiber network in Denmark.

This new win is based on the breakthrough order of approximately SEK 2 million, earlier announced in mid December 2009. The order value of this second order is approximately SEK 3 million.

TRE-FORs roll-out with Tilgin will impact the other three operators in the Profiber network as well, whose motto is "Fiber to all". This means that all enterprises and institutions and approx. 400,000 people living in the supply area are will be offered a fiber solution.

Telekom Austria is one of the most innovative IPTV providers in Europe. The operator’s MediaBox interconnects the TV set, mobile phone and PC allowing any image, video or music file stored on the computer to be easily retrieved and accessed on any screen. Ericsson will exchange and enhance Telekom Austria’s current IPTV platform in order to deliver blended content services to multiple devices which will eliminate barriers between TV set and PCs and introduce a new generation user interface.

DivX and Advanced Digital Broadcast announce that Telekom Austria is the first operator in Europe to provide DivX Certified STBs to subscribers of its service. The ADB-3810TW internet protoco STB delivers a high-quality viewing experience for digital entertainment through native playback of DivX video content accessed via USB drive or over the user's home network.

Digital Rapids and Nederlandse Omroep Stichting announce that the Dutch public broadcaster has selected Digital Rapids' StreamZ encoding systems to power live and on-demand Internet and mobile coverage of the 2010 Olympic Games for audiences in the Netherlands. The 2010 Olympic Games will be held February 12-28 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

France Télévisions has implemented IneoQuest's iVMS management system and Cricket IP probes for end-to-end network monitoring, analysis and remote troubleshooting. Using IneoQuest technology, France Télévisions, which has deployed a full IPTV National Contribution network since July 2008, can minimize operational expenses and ensure digital video quality, as well as determine appropriate service-level agreements with carriers.

Swisscom will add four new HD channels to the three channels currently offered by Swisscom TV. German channels ARD and ZDF and Austrian channel Servus TV will be available free of charge as part of the basic package from Swisscom TV plus. Swisscom TV plus customers will continue to have exclusive on-demand access to films, concerts and documentaries in HD quality.

Today's HD-enabled televisions deliver extremely sharp pictures to the living room, which is why Swisscom is committed to continually expanding its range of HD offerings. The four channels currently available - HD suisse, BBC HD, Anixe HD and Arte HD - will now be supplemented by ARD, ZDF and Servus TV in HD quality. Popular German-language programmes such as the crime series Tatort, as well as sporting events, are now being produced and broadcast in HD quality. The first highlight will be the HD broadcast of the Winter Olympics in Vancouver in mid-February.

Tilgin has won a breakthrough order for products and software from a leading Nordic fiber operator. With Tilgin’s solution the operator is able to further enhance its consumer offering with an evolution of its Triple Play Services.

This operator will introduce Tilgin’s Full Service Routing solution for Triple Play, based on Tilgin’s Home Gateway HG1300 together with the softwares HGA 570 and VCM 5, to fiber connected households. The order value of this initial order is approximately SEK 2 million.

Deutsche Telekom is making numerous new functions available to all customers of the Entertain TV service. Thanks to the "connected video recorder" Entertain customers can now link up several media receivers, manage serial recordings even more easily and share photos with friends and relatives via Entertain. This and other functions have been implemented as part of a software update and are available to all customers free of charge.

KIT digital and vivocom will join forces in a formal partnership to deliver IP-video management technology and solutions in Spain. The agreement builds upon a previous relationship that existed between vivocom and Narrowstep, a company that's assets were acquired by KIT digital earlier in 2009. Under the agreement, vivocom will market and service KIT digital's proprietary technology platform, "VX," jointly delivering IP-video solutions to customers in Spain and other Spanish-speaking countries.

Tele2 Netherlands has selected Espial's IPTV middleware for its IPTV service. Tele2 Netherlands will use the Evo TV Service Platform to launch its next generation television platform. With this platform Tele2 provides advanced services including linear TV, Video-on-demand, High Definition, PVR and interactive services.

BH Telecom has begun the rollout of its new “Moja TV” IPTV service using a complete IPTV headend from Envivio. Built by systems integrator and middleware vendor Smart Com, the deployment enables BH Telecom to offer a full suite of live and on-demand channels complete with electronic program guide, PVR and other interactive features to its more than 2 million subscribers.
