Tilgin has won the first order for products and software from Bredbånd Nord. This is the first order for Tilgin’s latest Gigabit Home Gateways and it will enable Bredbånd Nord to offer unrivalled performance to its end users. The order value of this initial order is approximately SEK 2 million.

Deutsche Telekom is expanding the range of programs available via its IPTV service Entertain: The first series of the international hit series "Torchwood" is now available in the TV archive for all Entertain customers at no extra cost. Every episode is available in high definition.

"Torchwood" is about an authority of the same name, responsible for monitoring alien activity on Earth. Three series have been produced so far and have been very successful in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and Hong Kong. The British-produced hit series recorded the highest ratings on BBC America last summer and a fourth series already being is planned.

Tele2 Netherlands has selected Amino Communications as the supplier of MPEG-4 STBs for the provision of IPTV services. Under the terms of the agreement, Amino is expected to supply Tele2 with STBs, including its latest A132 and A532 MPEG-4 dual SD/HD compatible and PVR models - over an 18-month period.

BT Vision launches Bolly and Beyond, the UK’s best value on demand service for South Asian films, TV, music and children’s programmes. Viewers have the choice to watch programmes on a pay per view basis or subscribe to the Bolly and Beyond Pack to watch all of the content, for only £6.85 a month.

Altibox is initially introducing this advanced IPTV offering for Norwegian Elite Series football programming with plans to expand to additional sporting events in the future.

Dreampark announced its first customer in Latvia. LIVAS Telecommunications, a provider of TV and broadband services on the Latvian market, has chosen the Dreampark Middleware solution Dreamgallery. This contract further expands Dreampark's presence and growth in Central and Eastern Europe and illustrates Dreampark's position as the leading IPTV middleware provider in Europe.

Ucom has deployed Edgeware’s Orbit-2X video server platform to drive Armenia’s first IPTV service. Edgeware’s Orbit-2X video server platform features built-in capability to record live TV channels, enabling Ucom’s IPTV infrastructure to deliver advanced on-demand services, including network Personal Video Recording and Video-on-Demand.

Türk Telekom has deployed the Verimatrix Video Content Authority System for IPTV for its highly anticipated IPTV rollout. Türk Telekom, one of the world's largest tier one telecommunications operators serving more than 30 million customers, has integrated VCAS for IPTV to secure the delivery of its extensive line-up of live broadcast and VOD content for its new IPTV service.

Verimatrix announces the successful deployment of its Verimatrix Video Content Authority System for IPTV for BH Telecom's IPTV service. The addition of IPTV services positions BH Telecom, the leading telecommunications operator in Bosnia & Herzegovina, as a strong triple play provider to its 2 million subscribers.

Iskon has deployed Edgeware's Orbit-2X server platform to deliver advanced on-demand IPTV services, including network Personal Video Recording, catch-up of live TV and Video-on-Demand. With Edgeware's Orbit-2X server platform, Iskon´s nPVR service allows subscribers to record up to ten hours of live TV in the network, with a catch-up TV service that enables viewers to replay the last 48 hours of broadcasts from the four most popular TV-channels in Croatia. Iskon.TV, Iskon Internet's IPTV service launched in April 2009, is now available in nine Croatian cities, offering over 40 TV channels and a number of converged triple play services.

German payTV operator Sky has selected Pace HD technology for its set-top box deployments in Germany and Austria. This deployment of Pace set-top boxes, rolling out from August 2009, will support Sky’s HD expansion plans across its territories.

Pace has been a set-top box technology partner of Sky, formerly Premiere, for a number of years and the new DS830 gives Sky the full flexibility to roll-out HD services with support for both MPEG-2 and MPEG-4.

Thomson has started deliveries of a new version of its hybrid terrestrial/IPTV/satellite HD set-top box to Orange for its television service. The set-top box will support both free-to-air and subscription television services, as well as interactive and on-demand content.

With this new HD device, subscribers can use Orange Television's catch-up TV service and its extensive library of video on demand content, including those available in high definition, through a seamless interface.

KyLinTV announces the launch of its new strategic partnership with Phoenix China News and Entertainment, aimed at delivering the latest and best in Chinese television programming to viewers in Europe. KyLinTV already has a proven track record in North America, where it offers more than 60 Chinese channels and 30,000-plus hours of VOD programming to Chinese-speaking households. Phoenix CNE is the European operation of Phoenix TV, the leading Chinese TV brand headquartered in Hong Kong.

Belgacom TV added 250,000 new customers since January 2008, representing an increase of 45 percent over 2007. The company’s success is driven by the implementation of an end-to-end IPTV platform from Nokia Siemens Networks that introduced HDTV, VoD, PVR and interactive services for both new and existing Belgacom TV subscribers.

Ericsson is bringing high-quality, interactive TV to viewers in Armenia through a deal with operator Ucom. Ericsson will deliver its IPTV solution including GPON technology in the first contract of its kind.

IPTV allows viewers to experience the same type of interactivity on their televisions as they are used to on their PCs, with personalized features such as chat, e-voting, web TV and access to social media networks. The IPTV solution for Ucom will also give viewers access to a flexible, customized portal that offers a wide range of broadcast channels, video on demand, an electronic program guide and personal video-recording capabilities.
